I wonder what Live has got planned for the next 30 days?

The tour starts April 30, but all international visitors to Australia need to stay 14 days in quarantine which means they would have been in Australia by now.

Live stated that they were unable to come to Australia "Due to scheduling conflicts" (their words), so what has Live got scheduled between now and the 16 of May?

Probably just to much effort to get everything in line and organized for the shows.

I honestly want to see Live back on the road, but I think this tour is a bad idea.

Very few bands are actually touring yet, and I haven't heard many good things about this promoter.

Also covid is still hanging around, and I would think that starting shows back up in the US makes more sense than a potential money losing venture overseas. Also is the band and all their crew vaccinated yet? I wouldn't travel overseas without being vaccinated personally.

Tons of factors.

I don't know, maybe they don't have anything else LIVE related scheduled as such... Maybe life and family is more of a priority at the moment.

Haven't some shows been cut from the UTSS tour? Maybe it's not as feasible for them?? Although I'm not familliar with the dollar side of things and how it works.. shrug.gif

As the dates of this tour kept changing, maybe the boys already had 'life events' planned. I mean maybe milestone birthdays - for themselves, wives or kids, dogs??, schooling, university, other business ventures, family holidays booked in?? Who knows?? I'm sure if the dates had have remained the same we would have seen the boys here in Australia. My opinion only so don't jump on me. bounce.gif

One thing I will say though... cue the violins....since the start of the pandemic and the lack of interaction or motivation from the band, I'm afraid the boys are not needing us as much as we... or rather, I, need them. I'm afraid they are on the wind down and I'll never see them in concert and that I will be forever loving something that 'was' for the rest of my days.... and this saddens me sad.gif

I appreciate what STP is doing as a band but for me they died with Scott. I just can't get into the newer stuff. One of my favorite bands of all time.

IMO, the new Bush album The Kingdom is awesome. IMO there are some amazing songs, it's their best since Sixteen Stone. If Live put out something that good I'd probably have a heart attack. I'd highly recommend giving it a few spins if you haven't.

Will have to get around Bush more, seeing them could be good, but having Cheap Trick as a replacement for my favourite band is going to rub salt into the wounds.

A message today from Bush regarding the Australian shows:

Australia,

We were so close!

At this time we have been told it is not safe to travel to all parts of Australia to be with you at Under The Southern Stars like we had all been hoping.

Stay tuned for rescheduled dates and further updates on Under The Southern Stars website.

But we promise we will come see you soon. - Bush

Please, don't try to post anything logical here. Many times within this message board fantasy & viciousness wins over logic. That's not hyperbole -- it is a reality as you peruse threads here the past 12 months. So many are here berating Live for not being entertaining during this pandemic as if the band were their dancing monkeys.

A post from Under the Southern Stars shared by STP:

UNDER THE SOUTHERN STARS - POSTPONED TO 2022

We are as upset about this as you are!

The Under the Southern Stars spectacular concert series featuring
Cheap Trick, Bush and Stone Temple Pilots has regrettably and unfortunately been postponed. Again.

We must protect our patrons, our artists and our crews.

Given the disappointingly slow roll-out of the vaccine by the Government, there is no confidence that we can keep all safe and proceed as planned at our festivals this May. The continuing mismanagement of the Covid-19 situation at all levels of government has led to numerous inconsistencies and on-going broken promises by officials that ultimately affect the safety of our patrons, artists and our crews, both domestic and international. So much so that the situation presents too much to risk to go forward with the dates as planned at the end of April and into May 2021.

The very recent eleventh hour cancellation of Byron Bay Bluesfest by the NSW government on the eve of the landmark festivals start date over Easter was an incredibly disheartening display of what could possibly happen to our patrons, artists and crews - being left stranded high and dry only moments before one of our events is set to kick off. We wish to protect all, and avoid a situation such as this.

To keep all involved as safe as we can and limit the possibility of getting stuck in the middle of further snap lockdowns, border closures and other knee-jerk reactions, we have to move Under The Southern Stars to a time that gives the series its best chance of running smoothly, as planned and ultimately allowing for the best experience possible to all ticket holders.

This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but the safety of all is our motivation.

Under The Southern Stars promoter, Andrew McManus has issued the following statement.
‘We ask you all to continue to believe in us. We must protect our artists and patrons. We get it ... how many times can the Australian system force another postponement? So we are making the hard decision to reschedule Under The Southern Stars to the first quarter of 2022 and ask that all our valued supporters hold on to their tickets and in return we will be announcing some truly exciting additions to the line-up and festival circuit!

We sincerely apologise for the situation and ask once again for our loyal patrons to #keepyourticket and stay tuned. Not only for new dates, but we are planning on making Under The Southern Stars bigger and better. It will absolutely be worth the wait.

A full announcement including the rescheduled dates, additions to the line-up and more will be shared in the coming weeks.

*********

All tickets already purchased will be valid for new shows when they are announced. No action is required from ticket holders at this time. Comprehensive information will be shared with ticketholders upon the announcement of our rescheduled tour dates.

Further information concerning rescheduled dates will be available via www.underthesouthernstars.com.au

The announcement doesn't mention anything about a refund. Has a refund already been offered?

Not all true or a fair, Gruno. (I see points on both sides of the fence, by the way).
If a fan would like to discuss, on a discussion board, if Līve is not entertaining enough during a pandemic, why isn’t that a fair opinion? Just because an opinion may not always be favorable doesn’t mean it’s “vicious” or not allowed to be said. I love other bands, but that doesn’t mean I love 100% of the things they do 100% of the time. That’s more of being a dancing monkey (Er, sheep) than your example.

Also, Līve has set a pattern of being rather inactive since the reunion. It is their choice to be, for whatever reasons. It’s 100% their choice to put out an EP with 2 covers instead of a full album. It was their choice to release Hold Me Up as a single and barely promote it, not ever adding it to the setlist. It was their choice to have a nearly identical tour/stage show & set list two summers in a row. It’s their choice to be 99% radio silent instead of interacting with fans. Therefore, the consequences of those decisions are theirs. Some fans are going to be disinterested & move on, and/or have unfavorable opinions. If those opinions are said in a disrespectful or “berating” way, then that reflects back on that person, and is out of anyone else’s control.

Finally, family life indeed could be a logical reason for backing out of the Australian tour. But I’m doubtful that’s it. I’m still thinking it could be legal reasons. Ah geez, so vicious huh?

Live made the right move opting out of this tour.

Domestic shows will be a much safer starting point for touring.

Those aren't happening either. Goo Goo Dolls just canceled their summer tour.

On a side note, they also "stripped down and re-recorded 4 songs just for you" (the fans). It was posted a week ago for everyone on Facebook.

Not asking the world of Live, but for the love of God, just show a pulse like your contemporaries.

Really. Meanwhile, Collective Soul just announced some summer dates.
It’s all so confusing.

I would love to know the terms of their agreement to reunite. We never will, but it probably would shed light.

Ed already shared in the Swami Select interview that he doesn't really see touring really happening until the summer of 2022.
