After reading this I understand why Bitcoin has value, but the value is more in the payment system that Bitcoin trades on than the Bitcoin itself.

The Blockchain technology that produces it is basically portable, decentralized. I can see why banks would have problems with it because it's a technology that doesn't depend on them. As the article mentions in the link above, a big reason for poverty in many parts of the world is the limited access to banks and the systems that more developed countries have. One of the alleged features of Blockchain tech is that it alleviates this problem.

To me Blockchain technology, basically, is to monetary transactions what Bittorrent is to sharing music. Not that Bitcoin is pirated money... Bitcoin is a byproduct of the technology, which is what gives Bitcoin its value, apart from which it would have none... but the technology does share peer-to-peer traits.

Don't know what in the hell of hells any of that has to do with CT or Live other than his hashtag, but there ya go. I guess I'm kinda answering my own earlier question.
