Anyone going tomorrow?

I have registered and unless something comes up I’ll be there. I still need to submit my question for them though. It’s hard to put “You didn’t perform your single Hold Me Up on your last tour.—What were you smoking’!?” in a nice way.

Recent photo of Chad? He looks like he has shed some kegs.

I wasn't able to find the exact photo of Chad, but here's a pic where he's got the same haircut.

This is actually awesome. Haven’t seen them interact like this in a very long time.

I had to sign off of it a little early. It’s almost 5:00 Pacific time. Let me know if I miss something important.

The coolest things I’ve learned is Ed never writes lyrics as poetry. He always writes them with a melody/as songs. I never knew that and was shocked.

Also, the reason why no quarantine live streams is it’s just not Ed’s thing. This was the first time he had used Zoom for an audience. Interestingly, the Swami Select dude tried to talk him into using it by saying, “All these people showed up here to see you! And that it connects people in a spiritual way/our shakras. Cool way to get Ed to look at it.

I already know the answer to this, but.... at the beginning Chad was asked (I don’t think Ed was there yet) if they had worked on new music this year. Then the question got put on hold as it wasn’t 4:20 yet. Was this question ever asked again?

Yes, the answer was basically no. Life was thrown a curveball. Ed has 4 kids at home. Seems like the world was telling him to pause. They have seeds of songs planted but aren’t going to work on them for awhile. Something along those lines.

Thank you. I was wondering how they would explain.

Watched most of it. Was reasonably interesting. Ed and Chad were relaxed and forthcoming with information. If you check their YouTube page, they usually upload a copy of the Zoom session there.

Hmmm, is it really that different from when he was solo and filming himself playing Face and Ghost etc in his living room? Guess he's just not interested these days.

True. He even sold Cameos once.

Sure, but at that time he was selling his solo act quite a bit. Now he is in a band that has legal issues. He can't act the same. Wondering (not that I care much) if it means his solo stuff is on the ice too.

It was definitely an interesting and entertaining hour or so and beat my expectations, some of my takeaways:

1. Ed and Chad seem to be on good terms, mentioned they text all the time. This was the first time, however, that they have "seen" each other since pre-Covid (even virtually). I was surprised and discouraged by that

2. They are NOT in the process of making new music. Ed is taking this time to reflect and take a break. They will revaluate when the world gets back to normal. There was nothing said that indicated that making new music is a priority. Touring is priority. That's just my view. (my read is that music isn't top priority right now and family, etc is)

3. I do think that if they decide to make new music, it'll be for the right reasons. Not to just churn something out like a SFBM or 717. Although I am disappointed they aren't making new music, and still don't understand why they aren't, its somewhat encouraging to hear that they want to feel inspired before collaborating again.

4. Ed is not in favor of virtual concerts, because it lacks energy. Kind of weird if you ask me.

5. They both shared some cool stories about the past, which was nice to hear

Right? This iteration of the band literally birthed itself in the form of a live streamed NYE show, and they were saying how awesome it was to be able to the stream it for the fans. Not that I need more livestreaming, just sayin'.
