Hmmmmm man, their single in here in Oz 'Supermassive Black Hole' has a wicked name but far out, shocked the hell out of most here I think. ' Knights of Cydonia' sounds more promising =P

I love the rock Muse stuff of the last two albums and I appreciate they've taken a turn on this album- I don't think it'll be awful but I hope they get back to the less blippy/electro sound on the next one. The new stuff is gonna be interesting live though!!

I'm not a Muse fan as I've sort of overlooked them, but Supermassive Black Hole is fucking great - I love it. I quite like Knights Of Cydonia too. I think I might actually end up getting into Muse in a big way.

Well, what's the verdict, Sherocker? Did you like it? I found it and thought I'd give it a try.

It's not the most original stuff I've ever heard, but I'm quite enjoying it. I don't like Soldier's Poem or Invincible at all - sickly. I particularly love the drumming in Assasin and City Of Delusion, Matt Bellamy's voice is 'le sex' all the way through and the only other band I've ever know get away with gratutious trumpet use is the Manic Street Preachers on Kevin Carter.

I think Muse are a band I'm going to really like for a short time, but it will be fun while it lasts.

well, i wanted to wait with my 'verdict' until i've heard it a couple of times, and i must say that it isn't that bad at all!! it's different, but different isn't necessarily bad. I still love Matt's voice (le sex, tongue.gif indeed) it's overall a nice song, not the best they've ever done, but it's nice to listen to. i'm curious if someone else has changed their opinion after a few listens?...

I am a HUGE fan of "blippy/electro" music, so this one suits me just fine. Love it, actually wish it was blippier ;-)

I still can't stand it.... I like blippy music too but I don't like the whole 'dance' thing on this album. Still, I loved absolution, and I'm sure the songs will be more appealing to me live.

Soldiers Poem is a pretty huge Queen rip-off.

If you haven't seen Muse in concert, you must go to seem them. The majority of the songs sound better than the studio versions, plus it's fun to see Matt jumping around on stage like a bunny.

You are SO going to be singing part of the chorus to Starlight when you hear it.

"Hold you in my arms, I just wanted to hold you in my arms" eyebrow.gif

I just bought a ticket to see Muse at the Concourse in San Francisco on July 18th.

Over the past few months I've finally allowed myself to get over the fact that they are a clone of Radiohead and enjoy the music for what it is.

Anyone know where I can dl the new album?

I got it from one of the torrent sites, but you'll have to download something like BitTorrent too.

Funny you should mention Radiohead - I cannot STAND them at all! Pablo Honey was okay, but I think that was only because it had more than a touch of Jeff Buckley influence. I think the comparison Muse have always been lumped with actually put me off getting into them for so long. Muse seem to have far more grunt than Radiohead and Matt's voice doesn't make me feel like lying on a train track and waiting to be decapitated like Thom Yorke's does.
