Live just posted "Happy 2 years to our EP, #Local717!" on Facebook.

Have to say my first thought was "wow, it's already two years old".

That was immediately followed by annoyance of how crappy this reunion has been. Local 717 is all they've been able to muster and that was two years ago. surrender.gif

QUOTE(Bob @ Oct 3 2020, 5:42 pm) *

100000% true. It took me months, but I finally got my singer/guitarist to record himself playing song ideas onto his phone and then upload them to google drive, and I've been using digital audio programs (Reaper and Audacity) to record drum ideas to share. It's totally possible and super easy these days. Never been easier, to be honest.

There's zero excuse for any of them at this point. You're telling me that NONE of them have recorded one lick of music in seven months? I'm out of words to use at this point. Even Zak has walls of guitars and amps to use to write stuff. What's he doing?

Makes me sad more than anything else. So much talent being wasted away.

Ed has a solo album, pretty much ready to go.

I'm hoping early 2021.

Seems like it could be a blues cover album. Said he's been working on something for years. Any word on that?

What on earth would make you think he would put out a solo album before finishing his tour with Live?

An Ed covers album will probably be better than an Ed solo album tbf.

But I'd prefer a good copy of Change.

why does it take so long to come out with a cover album? its been over 5 months since ed said he would have "new music to share soon". 5 months!

Maybe it's not an album of (all) covers.

I haven't given up hope on either, but I don't think any of that's likely to come on an Ed solo record.

If there’s a solo album ready to go - again a big IF - then delay can be due to a lot of things connected to the pandemic. Uncertain when or how much touring is possible, the finishing/mixing/mastering of a lot albums wasn’t possible earlier this year because of the lockdowns, doubts if it can be promoted enough these days, etc. etc.

But shouting a vague thing about it and then nothing for months is just weird, yeah.

Do you have any links to where Ed has said he's been working on a solo album or is this inside information?

Before he reunited it seemed like he was well into album 3, as he would post footage of the writing/recording. And then during his first interview w. Chad he said he would definitely go solo again in succession to the reunion. I'm betting he got Peter Buck and Zak in a room and laid down some tracks a while back, and then checked out watery synonyms in the thesaurus for the 3rd album title.
