Cool find. A lot of musicians were taking advantage of the opportunity.

Serious questions
1. Would solo Ed have taken advantage of this time?
2. Would Live (with Shinn) taken advantage of this time?

My thoughts:
1. Maybe? He seemed more engaged with fans as a solo artist, I think. I'm kinda surprised he didn't do it anyway.
2. No, but Shinn probably would have on his own as he did anyway.

Ed DEFINITELY was more engaged with his fans as a solo artist.
His silence is one of the weirdest things of all the weird things about this band since the reunion.
We have not heard from him since, his birthday in July, right?
I often wonder if when he rejoined the band if he signed some kind of agreement that he has to just stay quiet. If so, that has got to stink. It changes who he is.

Yeah, it's really weird. I think something is up there, but haven't decided what I think it is yet.

You're one who pointed out Līve is better than Squirrel Nut Zipper, I gave you a reasonable comp.

Fun Fact: Since Live reunited in 2016 (yes, it's been that long) both Bush (one original member) and Stone Temple Pilots (new lead singer in November of 2017) have released two full length albums. You can catch them together with Līve (one EP over two years ago) when the Under the Southern Stars series is rescheduled.

Not a criticism, just facts.

I was just trying to help somebody draw out a conclusion from band comparisons because they're pretty pointless.

It doesn't help that they're spread around the country, and with covid you wanted to avoid traveling. But Live never reunited. Loyve emerged. Zak will be needed for any new material probably, and what about the new lead drummers for the actual recordings? Need them together too.

Everything is digital. It's never been easier to collaborate and work remotely. A band could literally create an album without ever meeting in person. The only thing preventing Līve from cranking out a double album is inspiration or the desire to do so.

Fun Fact for Bremang: Bruce Springsteen assembled the E Street Band (9 musicians total) at his home studio for five days of recording in November 2019 but finished after just four. Bruce is 71. The new album coming out on 10/23/20.

Yup. Have you seen Sammy Hagar's quarantine videos? It's basically a "here's how to do it right" from a bunch of dudes over 70.

I mean I get it. At this point it makes sense for the conversation to devolve toward useless comparisons in order to cope with the expectations that Live has set. Hopefully people can find peace and accept that Live are just not interested.

Yes! Love Sammy Hagar and The Circle. They were my last concert in February. Their quarantine videos were indeed awesome, schooling everyone on how it’s done.

I won’t find peace about it until they are honest and just say they are not interested. -Either give 100%, or just retire/break up. There’s no “fake it ‘til you make it” here.

people lie. it's what you do that defines you. Gotta accept the truth behind Live's actions or you'll suffer and reach for random meaning like trying to say that Live should be active simply because any one of a trillion other bands are active

Truth!

Honestly I enjoy this board more than their music at this point. It was actually better when Ed was doing his solo act and CCP was making music with other singers. At least there was something. This reunion sucks!

100000% true. It took me months, but I finally got my singer/guitarist to record himself playing song ideas onto his phone and then upload them to google drive, and I've been using digital audio programs (Reaper and Audacity) to record drum ideas to share. It's totally possible and super easy these days. Never been easier, to be honest.

There's zero excuse for any of them at this point. You're telling me that NONE of them have recorded one lick of music in seven months? I'm out of words to use at this point. Even Zak has walls of guitars and amps to use to write stuff. What's he doing?

Makes me sad more than anything else. So much talent being wasted away.
