POD is the trendy hipster song? Are we sure we're talking about the same song? If *anything*, Drama is the trendy hipster song, having been played at almost every concert since 1995, and hardly changing up its structure since.

When was the last time that POD was even played at a Live show? Answer: Irvine, CA (FivePoint Amphitheatre), July 8, 2018. Y'all be killin' me right now. Heh.

Jumping way ahead, if it's STD vs RTTW, my vote is for RTTW.

I haven’t read any FB comments about it yet, but in trying to figure out how and why this song was voted #1 (of all the songs in their entire catalog, wtf), Nick said PoD has a cult following. So the impression that I get is, a group of people think it’s cool to like a song they deem off the radar of the casual fan. Could be wrong. I do need to go and read up.

Because until it gets to the end, what, some 6 minutes in, it is painfully slow. It would make people run to get a beer or to the bathroom. If I am super sleepy and want a Līve song to nod off to, PoD is the one I’m playing. I’d be out before it ever gets to the crescendo. Sorry, I don’t hate the song. As Hoodstock said earlier, it’s alright. However, it’s definitely not in my top 20 Līve songs. Honestly, I don’t even think STD would be either, but it’s going to rank higher on my list than Pillar.

Thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my thoughts and questions. I was genuinely curious and these were excellent answers. I didn't even know about how active that FB group was until this tournament, so this exercise has been eye-opening on many levels.

I've never written out my Top 20 Live songs, but I'm pretty sure POD would be up there. That slow buildup is part of what makes the song great for me, with the end being the cherry on top. It might be 6 minutes long, but I've never had to count a second of it. When Drama comes on, I can't press Next fast enough. YMMV, of course.

My mind might be failing me on this, but I could swear that when Live toured POD in the late 90's, they added couches and played POD and a few other songs in an "Unplugged" style. I just about lost my mind. Of course setlist.fm doesn't have setlists for some of those west coast shows, so I can't verify.

POD has always felt like a special song, even if you don't live in York or work for Caterpillar, Harley Davidson, or other blue collar jobs. To me, this song has some real soul to it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe. I dunno, man. They're both incredible songs, but I'm not sure I hold WD in quite as high esteem as some of you seem to. Or do I? Maybe I do.

I could spend all day deliberating, so I'll just say Lightning Crashes and have done with it.
