I love the distance, it's so different, but selling the drama is just a great song, so i go with selling the drama

I think I'm voting for The Distance. I feel like it's actually a lot less poppy than Selling The Drama, given the surrounding music of the time and on their respective records, anyway.

The Distance.

To be honest Selling the Drama is probably the better song and was definitely much more important for Live’s staying power in the 90’s.

But since I am sure The Distance will lose I feel comfortable voting for it just to show my appreciation for it. I don’t know if I’d even say it’s in my top 5 songs off TDTH but just like TSUFL yesterday, lyrically and musically this song has a special place to me.

It's not in my top 5 from TDTH either. But I do think it does a great job of setting the tone/theme for the album after The Dolphin's Cry. Not at all surprised Selling The Drama won, though.

this might not be a good look for Voodoo Lady...for once I'll be on the winner side...

Beauty of grey here no question, felt good to jam it yesterday singing it with my guitar. Nice song, progression, Live at its best. Simple, but also unique in its way.

I have to go with my namesake here! Voodoo Lady, of course!! smile.gif

Really, this is honestly an interesting match up... and another hard one! Beauty of Gray and Voodoo Lady are like polar opposites in style. Weighing in on my decision is that I like Mirror Song better than BoG. Also, if I’m ranking my favorite Līve songs, Voodoo Lady is going to be higher than BoG. Last but not least, Voodoo Lady has one, if not my favorite lines ever, “Relax and let your ears hear this beautiful song that's hiding underneath the sound.”

That is a belting line, tbf.

Another good matchup here cos both songs are good representatives of their respective eras. The earnest introspection of MJ vs the mysticism and allure of TDTH. Love both.

Think I'm gonna go for Voodoo Lady, ya know. It's underappreciated.

Voodoo Lady, but damn, it's close.

On the one hand, BoG put them on the map early on, but I also feel like BoG has the same problem as StD, in that it's been relatively unchanged since they started playing it. Maybe I'm just sick of it after all these years.

Voodoo Lady (I'm pretty sure) has had jams at the end, and I believe CT used to riff on Hendrix to close the song.

I have a feeling the VL lovers are going to lose this one, but we'll stand tall, dammit. smile.gif

Tough choice, they're totally different ideas. I think I have to vote for Voodoo Lady.

BoG.

Like everyone else this is a coin toss to me. Lyrically I think BoG has a pretty timeless message that given today’s politics is more important today than it was 25+ years ago. VL is great and better musically to me but BoG gets the edge on overall meaning.
