Live, Bush, STP Shows?, April 2020? Options

STP are still killing it, their latest LP is excellent, and they have a new one on the way early next year. Apart from playing Greatest Hits tours still (despite having lots of new material), they have really made the effort with their reunion.

Live could learn much from them, STP's new material is several orders of magnitude better than anything I have heard from Live since they resurfaced.

I have a feeling this will be next summer’s US tour.

maybe stp with live or bush but too soon for live and bush to go out together again. who would pay to see that show after seeing it this year, esp given the shitty setlist and shrinking set lengths?

STP’s 2019 tour? I looked in Pollstar top 200 North American, and don’t see that it charted. I don’t see that the Altimate tour made the top 200 either (unless I’ve accidentally overlooked...here’s the link for 2019 North American Tours)... https://www.pollstar.com/Chart/2019/12/Top2...anTours_791.pdf

Last year the bands charted.

Live provided support on Counting Crows' summer tour, which grossed $7.5 million and ranked No. 148 on Pollstar's Year End Top 200 North American Tours chart. Bush, meanwhile, teamed with Stone Temple Pilots and The Cult for a co-headlining tour in 2018 that grossed $5 million and ranked No. 196 on the same chart.

Australia is now a month out from this tour. Hopefully it will go down as planned, as the corona virus outbreak is starting affect world travel, and the impact on entertainment is imminent.

Although this Australian visit isn’t officially a continuation of the Throwing Copper anniversary tour the band recently completed in the US, Kowalczyk said “the setlist for Under the Southern stars will essentially be what we were doing in the States last year, with a couple of things thrown in there for fun”.

I can’t believe there isn’t a little more buzz about this. Maybe more so in Bush and STP camps? I don’t think this trip will happen. Tours and shows are being cancelled and postponed left and right. I’m predicting that in April, depending on how far this virus goes, then shows in May will start getting axed, and so on.

Live could use the time to get in the studio early. Ha!
