QUOTE
Cleaning out my closet. Seeing this. I can't help but recall how proud it made me. How proud, I still am. Regardless of not hearing from a single member since or that we all created was so carelessly disregarded. Buried. I remain proud of what I did for that family. But it's a strange feeling - folding that shirt and putting it in the "never gonna wear again" pile.

I still want to know if his family’s money influenced their decision to work with him.
I want to know if he gifted them any money, as it was about that time that they joined UFD and started TLD.
I want to know if Hynes orchestrated it.
Even if the answer is no to all of the above, what bums to not even talk to him.
These LIVE boys are bad news, in my opinion.
It is so disheartening, and does spoil their brilliant first 4 albums and all the memories for me.

Not in the least disheartening for me, nor does it spoil anything Līve for me, because he just wasn’t any good. However, I do understand his sadness. I’m sure he feels used/jilted. There has to be more to the story that we don’t know though, for CCP not to talk to him any more. Why do I want to say, alcohol? I could be way off base, but feel I read that somewhere.

The Turn was clearly the best LIVE album since TDTH and that tour was watchable for me, and the LIVE boys were certainly all about it at the time. Now, the album doesn’t exist, nor does he, because the LIVE boys have realized how bad he is. That narrative sounds familiar; have I heard it before? The LIVE boys change their minds more than a teenage girl, and have half the emotional maturity and twice the Cluster B. I’m ashamed to have ever idolized these unstable emotional infants.

I bought it, tried to like it, I really did. It’s still around here somewhere.
QUOTE

Chris Shinn was horrendous live. That’s what changed my attempt to like him fronting the band. Maybe if they’d just only played songs from The Turn on tour, I’d been alright. But no, when he covered Edward Joel’s songs, and butchered them up, I became sickened & livid, like a woman scorned.
QUOTE

Yes, they were. Try and not remind me.
QUOTE

The Motley Crue album they did with Corabi in like 1994 -still- doesn’t “exist” either. It happens!
QUOTE

Small potatoes.
QUOTE

Honestly, I don’t think they have used their minds much at all since the reunion, let alone “changed” them.
QUOTE

Then why do you linger here? Legitimate question; I’m not trying to be snarky. Please don’t say you are waiting for anniversary editions/release of unreleased material, because you don’t have to “talk” here for that. So, I’m calling your bluff. I don’t think you are ashamed.

LIVE was a huge part of my childhood and the only meaningful and healthy escape I had. I linger because it’s familiar, not because I like it. I have completely disavowed LIVE and would never admit to liking them in my actual life, because of what an utter laughable joke they’ve been for such a long time.

If Ed would sing just as raw as Shinn on Siren's Call or 6310 for example, we wouldn't call that reunion a failure.

Shinn has all the rights to feel this way. He wasn't perfect by any means, but his contribution to the Turn is way more than only money. (If there was money included)

He was the best to represent the band at the time, the nicest with the fans and Pat was actually playing bass in his tenure. Loved the 3 times I got to see with him fronting, and haven't been to another show since the reunion despite 3-4 opportunities. If they could match the passion he had for the Turn, we will see, but until then....

This. Shinn was a dude. Ed is a waxed up creepy old man. Shinn was a rockstar. Ed is your uncle embarrassing himself on the dance floor of your wedding.

If you completely disavowed Līve, you wouldn’t be here. Sorry, you bash them so badly it’s to the point of troll-like, and then the next thread, you’ll confuse me by saying something human-like. shrug.gif Sorry, I’m just trying to wrap my head around it. I went to the summer concert with two serious-business Bush fans. They “like” Līve for the TC album only—total casuals when it comes to Līve. It was SO embarrassing when Bush hit the stage, and totally showed Līve up. I also recently had a stranger walk up to me in the store, and pointing out my Līve shirt, he asked me when was the last time they’d put out any good music. It was embarrassing to say, “20 years ago,” but I’d never, ever disavow them. I let my Freak flag fly, and always will. They could open up for a Nirvana cover band in a bar, (as someone else once told me they should), and I still fly it loud and proud. surrender.gif I feel a little sorry for you.

I’m on the autism spectrum, so it’s difficult to let go of intensely held interests. I also have millions of other things going for me and this is my one “waste of time” guilty pleasure.

No. Shinn may have been nice and all, but a “rock star” is... Gavin Rossdale. Sure, Ed has his strange moments, but he ALWAYS has, since Mental Jewelry!! Probably Public Affection, but there’s not much footage. lol.gif It just ticks me off when people make fun of him now, like his weird crap is anything new. It’s not. More than anything, be embarrassed by Ed’s solo stuff. I was. I bought his first solo album, and tried to like it, too. no.gif

Ed was always weird, but weird doesn’t age well. Shinn is no Gavin, but he’s a helluva lot better than Ed this millennium.

I appreciate it but it’s never been anything personal for me. I really disagree with most of your opinions and will roast you for it but it’s nothing personal.

Ed was weird and quirky early on but since the late 90’s he’s just cheesy. I’m just sticking around to see how this train wreck ends. Can’t look away.

Shinn was last chance this band had of making music anywhere close to their hay day.
