Since Live prefers to cover songs instead of write good new ones which song would you like to hear them perform?

I'll start off with Tool's Sober. Perhaps Eddie K. doesn't have the dynamic vocals anymore but that would be an interesting one to hear him do via Ed Kowalcyzk's voice circa 1994.

I'd like to hear them cover some Public Affection, TGF, and Siren's Call.

I really liked when Ed covered Radioactive by Imagine Dragons while a guest on a radio show. I’d love to see the whole band cover it.

I think Līve covering Alanis Morrisette’s “You Oughta Know” would be incredible.

I also think a cover of INXS “Don’t Change” would be a nice one.

I just wanna cover of a song I actually like....

Do you have a link to the Radioactive cover? Never mind I found it.

I would have liked to hear him sing it in full voice and in the proper/next octave up. Maybe he doesn't have the pipes for it anymore.

At this point they should just do a cover album. They do covers in concert and seem to be in a creative rut lyrically. Something along the lines of Medium Rare by Foo Fighters could be interesting.

On the one hand, it would prevent Ed from writing bad new lyrics for a while. But I think that would really just cement his writer's block. Brother is very close to being a great song, the chorus is perfect, but the verse melodies sound like they fell out of some country artist's reject pile (though not as bad as Waterfall's verses, ugh). I want him to get a notebook and start actually writing again.

And get a fucking producer, because they're all self-important flowers and it shows in their music when someone else doesn't tell them to knock it off.

Couldn't disagree more. I like Love Lounge and Be A Giver, Man (minus a few lyrics). There is nothing that I hear in Brother that makes me think it was even close to a tolerable song. I think it's the worst song on the album, even with Waterfall on there.

No more covers. Much better to perform outtakes like Change, New City, Still aroused, Deeper etc

Not only liking Waterfall more but even thinking it’s a better song.

On one level, I like the whole EP, because it's Live with Ed. I don't hate anything on it, and if I say I do, it's purely in relative context. So I like Giver too, but Brother is my favorite chorus from Ed in many years. We'll have to disagree on it. Wanna fight all the time and try to get each other banned? tongue.gif

I think anything from Bee Gees or abba will suit Ed's fave falsetto
