Do you guys have meetups? The Rush online community does quite a lot. I've been to ten in the last fifteen months, including RushCon last July in Toronto. I've met about a hundred online friends, and they're all excellent. Some I've met numerous times and even spent a week with the couple who admins my home board in December.

I just got back from a two-day ski party at Mt Baker in Washington with some of my closest new friends. I actually know the host of this party from years ago when he lived in this town, and we found each other on a board a couple of years ago. These are some of my friends. LaFellaStrangiato (the host), Rushgrrrl (Portland), Supermouse (Toronto), Hemisteve (Dallas) and me, Grandpa Grizz. Yes we all traveled from afar just to hang out with each other for a couple of days, and it was sweet!

Aw, that's great!

Yeah, alot of us have met each other at shows and stuff.

In fact one of the greatest weekends ever was what we dubbed Chookapolooza in '04. We had people from all over here in little ol' York for the Live show at the York Fair. Adam Kowalczyk heard about it and threw together a show for us all.

And....lest we forget about Soul~la~palooza!!!! That was the weekend, Jennyfoo, Heather, Mr. Heather and our missing in action but not forgotten Laura, ohtangled, flew out to Oregon to see Colletive Soul in Seattle and Portland. Other than Chook~a~palooza, it was one of the bestest weekends I've ever had. kicking.gif

And last summer, dana flew out from Isreal and spent the summer hanging in the U.S. I had a B L A S T hanging with her in Portland! bounce.gif

I've met like...30 people from online. Mostly from the tool fan forum I post at. I'd be down for a meet up for this place, but whether or not I went would be determind by its location and who else was going.

It doesn't have to be a full forum meetup. There can always be small, area based meetups.

Here are some other meetups I've been to. The first was in Austin in Jan '05. Note that Hemisteve was there.

From RushCon in Toronto, July '05. Hemisteve is in this one too! And everybody who was at Mt Baker last weekend. The lady with the Rush shirt is Rushgirl, who lives near Toronto. She's a huge LiVE fan and saw them the other night in TO.

I agree with Eleonora.... A meetop would be nice, if half of us weren't based half a globe away.

Having said that though, I have met a couple of people from this board, which was fun!

Well, I've met tons of Live fans just from this site and Friendsoflive. Actually, just this past weekend, Beth (evil one) and I flew to Ottawa to meet up with two of our friends from FOL to see the show on the 18th. Fan meets make the concerts even more fun!
