That being said.... This is the song a lot of you were getting all excited over? I think it sounds like absolute dog shit and could easily have gone on with the other crap from Local 717.

I'm in the minority that likes 717 well enough, but it's probably better to view it as a collection of demos from a band that hasn't recorded together in 9 years. I think this fits perfectly with the 717 material, the same lyrics basically return in Giver. There are some good ideas here and on the EP, they're just under-developed and rushed, trapped in ideas they know worked for them in the past and they think are "safe" - and it's extremely obvious.

I think iff Ed would take more time, physically write his lyrics down instead of recording the first or second take, sit with them as written words for a while, and revise them, he'd be able to put together some great stuff.

They need a producer, not because Chad T can't do it, but because they need someone who sees through their bullshit, and isn't afraid to say, "this isnt working, cut it and try something else".

Not a great song. I personally like Love Lounge and Be A Giver, Man. The rest of 717 is a pass for me.
