Man, they are really touring a lot this year. Again new dates are announced for the Altimate tour! Can you imagine if they would change up their setlist a little bit, every night. We would come her to see which deeper cuts they chose last night. Especially in this Youtube era, it would be really exciting. Even if they chose 5 additional songs and played one each night it would be less boring than it’s now. Look at how much Youtube stuff is floating around after each show and how Dan collects it every time. But I’ve seen each performance of every songs 20 times now. Such a waste snd shame!

Agreed.
The date close to me is October 23rd in Cedar Park, TX, which is really Austin. I already have tickets that same day to see Sebastian Bach perform Skid Row’s debut album in its entirety for its 30th anniversary. Funny, I still get the little voice in the back of my mind that says, “But this is Līve. Sell your Bach tickets. Maybe by then they will shake up the setlist or play Hold Me Up.”

Am I crazy?! NO THEY WON’ T.

I’m sure I’ll enjoy Bas much more. I saw him last October too, and this time, it WON’T be the same show unlike Līve...playing, saying, dancing the same for a straight year. How can they stand it? I’d go crazy with boredom playing the same 12-14 songs a night.

Found this nugget on setlist.fm: It's a video with Gavin and Ed talking about the setlist creation process:

Setlist creation process

Ed's section starts at :23, and you can stop at :42, though Ed's reaction when Gavin is talking about Bob Dylan at 1:04 is interesting.

I'm debating about seeing Live in Seattle. I went back through the Reunion Tour shows (Live played in Seattle on the second stop of the U.S. tour), and they only played 13 songs, but they at least played Love Lounge, PLOTR and POD. Don't think I'll get any of those on this tour. Instead I get two sub-par covers I don't care about, but I also get DAOC and Shit Towne, so I'm torn.

It's also sad that I can already - TWO MONTHS before the show - guess with 90% accuracy what the setlist will be. That really makes me sad. UGH.

Are we sure that they're not just holograms on stage? Has anyone engaged them in conversation?

That holds true for the majority of bands on a co-headlining summer tour. I'm taking my son to see The Goo Goo Dolls this Saturday, because I already know that the band are playing all of his favorite tunes.

I love an advance setlist for that reason.

I’d love to in-depth fact check to see if it’s a majority of bands. I am quite busy with work, so I only had time to randomly look up co-headliners The Pixies and Weezer. I chose two dates to compare.

Weezer on April 5th in Idaho:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/weezer/2019/...d-5b93efac.html

Weezer on April 6th in Oregon:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/weezer/2019/...r-5b93ebac.html

Both setlists are quite different, and considerably longer than Līve’s.

The Pixies on April 5th in Idaho:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/2019/...d-4393efa7.html

The Pixies on April 6th in Oregon:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/2019/...r-4393eba3.html

Again different, and longer than Līve.

Shit, even that sad cover band Weezer is putting Live to shame with their setlist and show length.

I am sorry, but Live not capitalizing on their deep catalog is a travesty and can't be defended. They are lazy and don't appreciate the die hard fans. It's pretty simple. 12 songs is a joke. The fact that the 2 songs I was most excited to hear, TDAOC and Iris (because they haven't been played on every tour), have been cut is an even bigger joke. Makes absolutely no sense and is a slap in the face for the few fans they have supported them through all the BS throughout the last 20 years.

Live is the same joke they’ve been for 19 years and the only people left defending them have $$$ conflicts of interest.
