Eh, I can't get into Century at all. I've tried, but it just isn't happening. Plus I sort of laugh at the lines,
"everybody's here
puke stinks like beer
this could be a city
this could be a graveyard
you stole my idea
you stole my idea"

Those lines don't make the song bad-And I actually like those lyrics- but I don't really like the melody.
But Graze is definitely not quiet. Just listen to the ending.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why most people don't like merica? I fell in love with that song the first time I heard it and have loved it ever since, but that song seems to be pure crap for most other Live fans. Why?

I've got the live version of Graze from the Secret Samadhi radio broadcast. There's nothing heavy about it at all.

I used to like it when it was performed. It would just be Ed and Pat on stage with Pat playing guitar.

I feel Samadhi is Lives worst CD, and I'm sure I'll take some shit for that comment. But on this one I could've voted on a few songs. Century comes to mind first because I really cringe when Ed gets into the "puke stinks like beer" lyric as the songs picks up. I love the music on Samadhi but the lyrics killed it for me on most songs. I'm all for abstract writing but if someone can translate "angel, don't you have some bagels in my oven" into something meaningful than I might change my mind.

I won't give you shit for that, you've made your point and you didn't trample upon other opinions. If you can't relate to the lyrics and it's all that important to you, then that's fine.

That said, SS is there on top for me, along with MJ and TC. I managed to vote in the MJ and TC polls though, but I just can't here.

I voted for Merica, but I don't think it's "pure crap." It's just that I LOVED every other song on SS, so Merica "lost" by process of elimination.
