ENTER DAD25 AT CHECKOUT FOR 25% OFF YOUR ENTIRE ORDER THRU JUNE 18th

That brings the product total to $59.99

If you do not want the vinyl, buy the package and sell off or trade the vinyl. However, you may want the vinyl for the booklet. It is a thing of beauty.

Thank you SO MUCH for the DAD25 code!

I looked at purchasing this via the official +Live+ site and with shipping to Australia it came to ridiculous $144.61!!! wow.gif

Using the code at https://shop.udiscovermusic.com/collections/live it came to $86.11 victory.gif

Not interested in the vinyl hassle. I know about the code, it's clearly bannered on the top of the website. Glad it save you a lot of cash being in Australia.

Just disappointing that there is no option for a 2 CD set anywhere. They offered that for MJ.

I hope if they remaster it, they use the same people responsible for the unbelievably dynamic and clean sound of Local 717.

The freaks4live.com store page just got updated. There are a ton 9f options, but no 2 CD set option.

There is 2cd version available, apparently as an Australian exclusive. It comes with a free 12" x 12" signed lithograph. Available here:

JB Hi-Fi (link in previous post) has a 2 CD version of Throwing Copper. It comes with the Woodstock 1994 recording.

No need to purchase right away in the next few weeks Amazon and other retailers will advertise their releases...

Anyone know why there doesn't seem to be a link to just get a digital version?

Because there is no point in pre-ordering a digutal release 2 months before it's available to download.

I'm a little disappointed that a standard 2-CD version has not been announced for the US. It would match the Mental Jewelry 2 CD release. Unfortunately, I believe the reason the extra songs were moved to the album disc was so they could still provide extras on a one disc version and make the 2nd disc part of a more premium set (the vinyl/CD set).

While I'm not super excited about the Woodstock set I'll probably still buy it if I can get the Australian edition for a decent price. I think even importing it and buying a domestic single disc copy will probably still be reasonably cheaper then buying the vinyl set. I don't have any interest in that.

Kinda wish they had released a more complete standard set from one of their 94/95 concerts. Heck, even a remastered/remixed version of the Academy show would have been great. 10,000 Years and White, Discussion were just a killer ending to their sets during that time.

Many fans have songs and performances on wish lists and holy grails that they would love to hear or have released. Many times the performers do not own those live recordings. If they do not own it and want to release it, they must pay for those rights. That's where the hassles come into play. Sometimes the owner does not allow those rights to be granted. Other times it may be too costly to purchase those rights.

On top of all of that, you have demos and alternate tracks, mixes, etc. of studio sessions. Record company owns those. Guess who almost always has the final say on what extra content goes on a re-release? The record company that owns those recordings.

Look back through the TC25 threads here. There are some good recommendations for what fans would love to see on a re-release. Great wish lists! Many of those would never get past their respective rights holders. MTV Unplugged... eyebrow.gif

Will there be a Secret Samadhi or Distance To Here re-release? Depends on if the record company wants to do such a thing, I would assume. I am sure they are looking at the sales numbers for MJ25 and impending TC25 to see how well those did/do. If those show good returns, it would benefit all to roll those future editions out. Note: remember that the next time someone on this board proclaims that they rather obtain these tracks for free rather than Live getting paid.

Generally speaking, some here will continue to overlook all of this and will continue to complain and blame Live repeatedly (in multiple threads) for not releasing certain recordings.

There's certainly truth in this but I'd be shocked if Woodstock 94 was any cheaper to use then a lot of the other material they have from that year.

Record companies also want to make money. If they're going to release something anyway, you'd expect them to make it as enticing as possible. Time is running out and the audience for this material is shrinking rapidly. I'm not sure what they'd be holding out for. I'd love to know the true behind the scenes decisions that go into these releases.

Speaking of time running out and anniversary releases... Death Of A Dictionary is 30 years old this year. It has just about a perfect length to fit on a vinyl release. Vinyl is very popular right now. What better time would there be then to finally re-release that album in the Fall/early Winter? I'm very pessimistic that this would actually happen but I can't think of a better time to do it. They have said they fully own their pre-Mental Jewelry material so the "record company" can't be an excuse.

Keep widdling down the factors involved until you come to a solid pool of recordings. You mentioned the Academy performance. Are there multi-tracks available for proper mixing from the Academy? Are there any multi-track recordings of concert performances by Live that have survived 23+ years? Again, we can do this all day here.

Let's stop down for a sec: have you heard the entire Woodstock '94 performance? That entire performance was on fire from the moment that round stage started to spin. Perhaps we should curtail"this concert vs. Woodstock '94" until listeners can give a legitimate opinion/comparison...?

Enticing as possible, yes. However, record companies work with dollar figures and the bottom end. That wins out over many things in the end. It is what is is.

I am very happy that Live is able to release this anniversary edition. thumbsup.gif

Woodstock ’94 (Disc 2; previously unreleased)
1. Iris
2. Top
3. The Beauty of Gray
4. Selling the Drama
5. Shit Towne
6. Lightning Crashes
7. I Alone
8. Operation Spirit (The Tyranny of Tradition)
9. White, Discussion

So how many tracks are actually on the Woodstock 94 disc? There are 9 tracks listed above but in all the promotional posts by Live, the number 8 is mentioned.
