Taken from the American Idol boards:

Hehehe...for the second night in a row, Mystery won in a heads up competition of songs with over 70 percent of the vote on Detroit radio station WDVD.

It will be on again tomorrow night at 8 o'clock and if it wins, it will enter their rotation. This should answer your question as to whether it's a single or not. I told you it was and I've told y'all a video is coming in about two weeks. Don't know what the video contains but I can tell you there will be one.

just curious why Mystery isn't in a stations rotation automatically instead of having to be added via a competition? sounds kinda lame.

Probably should automatically go into rotation. However, doesn't a competition like this draw even more attention to Mystery, Live and Chris? Little extra publicity?

Those things are ploys. If the song is popular it will get added whether it wins the competition or not. If it wins, the song is in...so lets alleviate all doubt tonight.

I agree on the "ploy" issue and "alleviate all doubt tonight".

The Chris fans on the Idol board are planning to listen online and call in for Mystery. This is what they posted today: "As for the Detroit station, it is a call in vote. They play both songs and give you a number to call after they've been played. The station identifier again, is WDVD. Google search it, log in and listen in."

Hope it's okay to have two posts side by side. I listened to the 96.3 contest tonight. Live/Chris Daughtry version of Mystery went up against Madonna's single tonight. I didn't catch the name of her single.

This is definitely a "ploy" as there was no final decision tonight. Mystery won tonight by 92% of the vote. However, "if you want to hear it more around here," be sure to tune in tomorrow night where Mystery will go up against another song...................

You don't think the sales will be good then, I take it? Granted they might not end up at the very top, but isn't the fact that they're in the top 100 good if they reach that point?
