Totally disagree, Hoodstock. That setlist is so last year... I can’t believe they still played the blues cover! bomb.gif They’ve had weeks and weeks off to plan and prepare for 2019 and this shows their commitment (lack of) to what they are doing and total disregard of the fans. I”ll use Tesla as an example. They finished a tour in October of 2018. They are ready to put out a new album and have kicked off another tour this month featuring new music on the setlist AND old songs they have NEVER played before!! All bands KNOW that fans these days follow them closely online!! Adapt to the current times, for crying out loud!!

Instead of that damn cover, how hard would it have been for Ed to say last night, “Who’s been with us since the beginning? No, I mean the beginning? When we were known as Public Affection? This is for you!” And then they could of played “Paper Flowers.” Acoustic even! Or... “We have a special anniversary coming this year. The 25th anniversary of Throwing Copper! Here’s a little sneak peek of what to expect. Then they could’ve played “Susquehanna” or just “Iris” for God sakes!! Show us you still love what you’re doing and get some excitement going! Just one song! One surprise! That’s not hard! F@&k!! angry.gif

I’m still fuming. Something else they could try doing... You can’t tell me they can’t even switch up that one terrible blues cover for another cover? Yet another example... Last October I went to Sebastian Bach’s show (Former Skid Row singer) in a dive bar downtown San Antonio. The setlist from two days prior had that he covered The Pina Colada Song! I was really looking forward to that hearing how he’d cover that one. Instead I got a Rush cover. I hate Rush. Oh well, no hard feelings. At least he keeps it fresh for his crowds of 200 people.

Remember this? This is the little gift they could have given us last night. We, the fans left in 2019, are very thirsty and question the oasis.

In total agreement with that statement. I couldn't imagine doing the same show day in day out. I want more than one surprise though.

I agree with one year to the next using the same list every year, but complaining that a set across the country in July is the same as the one you saw in August is pretty petty. That's what I was reading all last year. Different arguments I guess. If it's the same going into the summer I totally agree with you.

The set list like that has been followed by the band since fucking 2006 with an addition of a couple of new songs.

When speaking about lame sets, I always remember 2 examples and I also always name only 2 bands.

311

Pearl Jam

Both can give 3 gigs at the same place in a row and mix-up a good half of the set list each night.

Because it's fun. And because it's art, not only moneygrab

Live has struggled with this for a while now. They had the whole night to themselves and basically added 10 minutes to a repetitive setlist. I was underwhelmed with the whole thing

How many shows would you plan to see on a given tour?

Complaints of consistency in set lists sounds like a problem of following a band to closely online.

The problem is that it sucks

So, let me get this straight. They played an 80 minute rehashed setlist for a room full of nothing but Live fans, some of whom had traveled for the show? Why would they not, just one time, pull out something special? Now I hear rumors of a tour with Bush. I hate to say it but, I am very close to being done.

I had a free ticket to see Bush in 2018, I went, and I left after a few songs

I'm sure a lot of Live fans like them but I'm not a fan. Can't see paying over a hundred bucks for some crap seat and some crap setlist once again. I just don't think a few shows here and there for the real fans is too much to ask for. Even just a mini tour before the Bush one in a few cities that people could travel to with a varied setlist. Why is that so much to ask?

It’s pretty clear that Live doesn’t care about the few diehard fans that still exist. This whole reunion has been a massive letdown.

Diehard fans we are, but we are not suckers. I love Līve honestly more than I love some people (I know that can sound kinda bad, but I think some people will get that). I just read the FoL Facebook page and it looks like the “diehards” over there have nothing bad to say yet about last night’s show or setlist. wow.gif I don’t get that. Whether they run you off that page for saying something negative or not, be real. I respect the band way too much to name call, but as Heather said, people traveled far for that show last night and in crappy weather, too!! They could have played for 2 plus hours for them, that casino-world was their oyster. All I expected was one or two little surprises and nada. ...I told you I’d lose it.

If people actually still travel to see them then they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Yeah I mean c'mon. That's on you for having unrealistic expectations. Gotta come to terms with what Live are doing nowadays. It's crazy to think that Live is still even a thing after 28 years. It is what it is.

Digging deep for at least one surprise song isn’t an unrealistic expectation at all. And 28 years is nothin’.
