It wouldnt surprise me if Zak Loy has 15/16 Live songs ready to go. As long as he can find a drummer then Live will have some new tracks to put out

Someone mentioned that Live has "lied in their interviews since the PA days," but I cannot figure out which thread that was on... but it got me wondering, do we think the 15 or 16 (or whatever the number was) pre-Love Lounge songs really exist... other than 10,000 Cups, there's no proof, is there?

My guess would be no, they don't.

Agreed. If 717 was the best they could do over the course of two years I'd think the cupboards are pretty empty.

They seem to be focused on the TC re-release so I'd easily take that over 50 new songs.

The cupboards are filled with at least 10000 cups

Same here. I ordered the signed vinyl record. Hopefully it's just the original four who signed it.

a few months later.....and this EP still blows. Can't even make it all the way through. Makes total sense Eddie K did everything for the album. It's straight trash. I wish for the days of The Turn.....wow, how Live has fallen. They used to be a top 3 band for me.....now they'd be lucky to make the top 10. They are the Simpsons of music. Great great stuff early on, held on too long, and now are just embarrassing. Eddie's starting to look a bit like Homer. smile.gif

I couldn't agree more with this sentiment. I keep hoping they'll release something partly enjoyable but everything they have been doing seems half-baked at best.

Is it me or does it not feel like any legitimate effort is being put into the new music. I'm starting to agree with ya'll that CCP only linked up with Ed to make a few extra bucks.

My uniformed opinion is that they are legitimately enjoying touring together. Beyond that, I don’t think there is a commitment (or ability) to collaborate and make quality new music.

I can’t undertand why they haven’t done a headlining tour in cities or vary the setlist but I won’t get started on that topic again.

Simply because unless they played small venues, I don't think anyone really remembers them or cares about them anymore. It's been thirteen years since they BROKE UP. 20 years since they were relevant. 25 years since they were at their peak. They'd need to tour with other 90s acts in order to sell any tickets....people here don't want to admit that, but it's the truth. Just give me the TC reissue with all the bonus tracks, MTV unplugged, etc., give me a deluxe SS in a few years, then give me the deluxe TDTH with all those alternate versions, Deeper, etc.....then close up shop.

Again, I love these guys....to the point I have friends making fun of me about it.....but I love who they were. They were part of my youth and teenage/college years. Since Ed has his balls chopped off sometime in the early 2000s, they have not been the same, and they aren't coming back. CCP can still make decent music, The Turn and TGF albums show that. Very good albums, and in fact I'd call TGF album great. But those days are over too. Live is a nostalgia act at best at this point. Get used to hour long sets at summer festivals with 7M3, Sponge, Everclear, and the Gin Blossoms, with the hits being played and probably Love Lounge. As George McFly would say, this is their density.

I’ll admit it. And while I’d love to see them headline smaller venues (because duh, no bad seat in the house), I don’t think they are going to do it yet. Hopefully one day they will. I don’t think there’s any shame in touring with another 90’s act. I really don’t understand why it’s deemed embarrassing by some to do so. -Please do explain! I’ve been clamoring for them to tour with Alanis Morrissette. That’d be my dream bill; it would sell some tickets!! Although I think Līve would deserve to headline, I’ve accepted that she would.

I get made fun of too, from people in my own household to friends. I had to beg at work to have someone join me for their show last summer. I don’t like going to concerts alone. Finally, one of my besties accepted, but when she told her fiancé where we were going, he said, “Līve?! Shouldn’t they be opening up for a Nirvana cover band in a bar?” Yea, it’s like that. aggressive.gif
