Could you imagine if the guys went through with the original plan of just calling Chris in to re-do the hits? Suddenly we see I alone show up on a TV show and are like, who the heck is covering I Alone and why are they calling it Live?

If they're using other peoples money (Chris) it's all good. UFD seems to be underway still and theoretically could pay off pretty huge.

It could, but I’ll bet with anyone that it won’t. If Shinn and his incredible resources determined he should back out, it ain’t a good sign. And, when a company is founded by a convicted conman, it also ain’t a good sign. Any takers?

What Chad said about Chris back when they kicked him out and Chris first broke his silence in 2017

"You can't imagine the kind and generous man that is Chris Shinn. You also can't imagine how complex the mechanisms and dynamics of musicianship can be from inside the bubble. The last soul on the planet that I'd ever want to hurt is Chris, but it happened just the same. There may be no easy pathway to restore all things but it won't stop me from expressing my deepest appreciation for everything Shinn did for me, my family and our band. His star will continue to shine brightly and he will always have my support. Thanks for the kind words bud!"

I could speculate whether this was Ed's demand, or whether Chris's family fortune really was a big factor for letting Chris in the band, and pulling out of the United Fiber deal played a role in making the split volatile.

I can't feel too bad for Chris though. He was born rich, hung out with rock stars, and took over Ed's spot in Live. So what if they took the album down. He could just be cool and let The Turn be a cult classic. Or he could be pissed at how miserable it was that he didn't get to also be the rockstar he expected to be.

I’d like to add, that Shinn finally opening his mouth after 2 1/2 years to address this, is rather fishy.

Whatever you think of Shinn please remember that CCP, in order to protect Ed's fragile ego, agreed to pretend The Turn never happened. That was a complete shit thing for them to do.Yes, there are always two sides to every story but that is a fact that cannot be denied. Therefore, I give Chris the benefit of the doubt given that plus the fact CCP spent years hating on Ed on social media (some of it well deserved imo) then turning around and embracing him for what appears to be for financial motivations. Point is CCP's credibility is proven to be suspect.

Just when in the heck was this ever verified, said, or published? shrug.gif

There’s more to the story between Shinn & CCP that we don’t know. Whatever it was isn’t our business. What -is- our business is the music, merchandise, and touring in which Live chooses to currently put out for us to spend money on or not. No one has to choose to stick around and be a fan if it.

I’ll say this again... I’ve seen another band in sort of the same situation, who had a different lead singer for an album, got their original singer back, and they ignored that album for a while and enraged some fans. Currently that ignored-for-a-while album is listed on the discography. Live will recognize The Turn again at some point.

And what was ever verified, said or published to confirm that Live will recognize The Turn again one day in the future? Again, I agree there is always more to the story than what we publicly know. I was directly responding to you saying what Chris did was fishy (per your reasoning we do not know why he waited this long to say something so why judge?); however, CCP has been doing "fishy" things for a couple of decades now. Bottom line is, whatever CCP's reasoning was, if you put your heart and soul into something and then its as if it never happened OF COURSE its going to be upsetting. Peace, and you may have the last word if you choose smile.gif

I can understand now how Shinn would be questioned about his split from Live. If he’s putting out new music, he might get thrown that question. I didn’t notice the new music thing, because I’m not interested. Honestly, it all still is a little fishy. More drama means more attention for you, especially when you are putting out a new product. In the past, I’ve even wished interviewers would ask Ed and Chad T. tough questions and they don’t. Makes me wonder if they get questions to preview ahead of time instead of being asked on the fly, who knows? Oh I can speculate with the best of you. What fun would this be if we didn’t? I speculate that CCP didn’t not decide to disregard The Turn because of Ed’s fragile ego (which I don’t believe is at all fragile). It’s a natural thing a band would do in this situation.

Ok I lied about you having last word lol. You said it was natural that a band would disregard their own record with a new singer. You said you know of one band that did....ok. Can you name several more? Because there have been many bands through the years that changed line-ups, including new singers, and chose not to disregard their own work so I would not say it is natural, just a decision they made. And that is a huge decision. Months of writing and touring and hard work just to pretend it did not happen and to pull it away from the fans after releasing it with no warning or explanation. If you can think of a better reason than Ed,in all seriousness, I would like to know considering that decision corresponded with the return of Ed. Without ANY explanation from the band on why they chose to do this all we have is speculation, which we have the right to do seeing as how we are the reason they have careers. If they do not like it they could choose to be more forthcoming. Besides, and this is more speculating, but I do not think Chris is going to get any more attention bringing up drama with a band that has not been relevant in two decades. As much as I love Live most people have no idea who they are. Ok for realsy I am through...possibly lol.gif

Yup, totally absurd that Chad considered rerecording songs that were 17 years old because he had the "right" to do so. Thats egregious.

I had to read that twice cause I couldn't believe it the first time I read it. Have no idea what he could have been thinking. Glad they did not go that route and we ended up with a good rock album.

He was probably pissed at Ed, and thought that we can show him up by re-recording the "best of" with Chris, and in Turn... Ed would get angry. Chris said these guys have a mental maturity of a 17 year old, so that sounds about right.

It also seems that way with the current song writing. I remember the time I was 17 and recorded a guitar riff and thought it was the best sounding thing in the world. Seems like thats whats happening now with Local 717. "Oh man this sounds awesome! Everyone is going to love this"... lol.gif

Yeah and for what reason would they want a rerecording, if they didn’t even were about to perform as LIVE anymore?

Well, as far as I can tell there are only two possible reasons: To piss off Ed...but I doubt this since CCP has pretended they never said anything bad about him (much the same way The Turn has never existed) and they are actually BFFs and always were meant to be together. So that only leaves....for shits and giggles.
