I found a site that will be selling a high-res version of Local 717

https://www.qobuz.com/ie-en/album/local-717...e/gsfoo67zf0i0a

Has anybody used these guys before?

I haven't used Qobuz. Patrick Norton discusses the service in a recent A/V podcast episode, jump to about the 18 minute mark: https://www.avexcel.com/episodes/avexcel-episode-91 Qobuz is a French company moving into the US market. Their catalog has a lot of classical music. They sound legit.

Thanks. Didn't realise Patrick Norton and Robert Heron were back together. I used to love watching their HD Nation show on Revision5 years back.

The funniest thing is that from what I have heard, the new songs which were being written for so long sound rushed anyway. Lack of spirit, lack of production, laziness and mediocrity all around.

Not sad anymore, hardly giving a damn, just my 2c.

For those asking, why should one come to the board and tell the whole world they do not like the songs or spill the hatred.

Well, hello there

Live brought us together and some people have spent years and money to support the band and they can ask for something more than rainy baby waterfall child hehee

The more I listen to it, the more I really like the clip of Venus in Furs. I think this EP is going into heavy rotation on my playlists as soon as it's out.

I'm thinking why do I even care since they obviously don't care anymore. After Friday I'll sign off until they re-release some older tracks.

Is it just me or did they put reverb on Ed’s voice that sounds like a a child’s karaoke machine? I sure hope that I’m just hearing that because I played it on my phone from twitter. I had high hopes for this one, but this might be another “no” from me. Yikes, I am feeling disappointed.

Irritating it's just a download. I think i'll wait for a physical release before buying it.

Having said that, I'm still waiting for the vinyl version of The Turn Chad T promised us, guess I can give up on that one now.

Ha. How was that not the single?

Safe to say if Live is still around next year and they record an LP they need Jerry Harrison again.

Or a brand new producer that works in rock/alternative.

An exclusive preview of Brother seems to have just been posted on Loudwire.

I am really liking Brother! Liking it a lot! Now THAT is good new Live music! I think that’s the song for me on this EP.

Brother premiered!

Gotta say, this time I liked a little more what I heard first time I listened. I guess there will still be enough elements that fans will not like (the fast overproduced guitar all song long, Ed singing child, etc), but at least this sounded a bit more inspired and up to 4.40 minutes!

Also, I liked the intro sound in the first 25 seconds

I think fans will like this one the most out of the 5 songs, but who knows.

Lyrics, please?!
Find a way to walk with me, Brother!

Brother sounds good! thumbsup.gif

These songs don’t sound anything like old Live but that’s okay. How could they? They’ve lived a lot and experienced a lot since then.

On first listen, Brother is my favorite song on the EP that I have heard and very good.

The production is so so so so bad though, I am not sure how its possible to sounds so bad. The production does not do the song justice.

I have to say I kind of like it. Agreed about the production. Definitely not a great advertisement for CT as a producer and Think Loud studios. Ed actually sounds good in the middle and the end, but his vocals are turned down to low and drowned out.

Just a guess until it's played in concert but is CT now the rhythm guitarist and Zac lead?

For me, it's easily their best song since Lighthouse.
