I was under the impression that the Janes Addiction drummer did the drums on this new song but if I was mistaken then I apologize. I am certainly not trying to spread fake news. And do not want to come across as hostile toward Live or anyone else. I love this band. So much so that from my perspective (and this is only my personal opinion) I just wanted to see and hear the 4 guys writing and recording and performing all the music without other musicians contributing, which was my point. The Jane’s addiction drummer is at least contributing percussion on this recording. And Zach was on Lopve Lounge. And another of the 5 tracks is a cover. That only leaves me with 2 remaining songs to hopefully hear something written, arranged, and performed by the 4 members of Live. I have been looking forward to seeing and hearing those four guys return to their origins and reigniting the old process and creativity to produce Live music the way only they know how to do.

No need to apologize. I certainly wasn’t trying to point that YOU are spreading fake news. Just saying that false rumours or unchecked facts easily find their way to a messageboard like this, creating wrong view on our band. Most points you wrote were accurate tho.

For sure the whole band is accountable but in the last 20 years whatever music was made without Ed (TGF and The Turn) was light years better than that made with Ed. This should say a lot.

I feel the same way about The flood and the mercy. Ed sang more in range, had great production, decent songwriting, his voice still had a little shimmer, that straining singing he's been doing is just awful. If CCP could have played into that I think there might have been a chance, but then again TGF and The Turn were rock albums so they want a vocalist who can belt it out.

I never considered Live a hard rock band. The band released some harder edged songs yes, but the majority were mid range tempo rock. TGF and The Turn were rock albums, but really didn't sound much like Live IMO, (the riff on Siren's Call did, but that was a leftover from 1997). My favorite Live album was The Distance to Here, and that wasn't really a rock at all. Just my thoughts.

I love Giver because it’s new, fresh, and fun. They love Giver because it’s new and they MADE it. I don’t love Giver like I love Stage. I’m sure CT doesn’t love it like (insert his fave Live song here). Genre never really mattered to me. It's stupid. I like all kinds of music. I've always loved Live because you never really knew what you were going to get. I just think they have so much more in them than this. I really don't feel like I'm comparing or being overly critical. I just want something that grabs me instantly. Or at the very least, something that moves me. Something that I want to hear again and again. I'm not getting that. TGF gave me that. I'm not sure what the problem is but I just feel like something isn't clicking.

I listened to the song a couple of times now. I do like it. I think it's cool. But the production is hilariously bad. Like one of the worst I have ever listened to.

I compared it to Ed's solo stuff or The Turn. It's just embarrassing. Love Lounge and Giver sound so amateurish in comparison. I really hope they get some professional for the actual album.

Speaking of change, I think we're a bit overdue for a color scheme change... we've still got Songs From Black Mountain colors here.

What if Chad could use some other ways of promotion? Just imagine. There is an interview and he suddenly says: "Giver is our worst song. Es does not have it anymore. He can barely sing at all, he is vaping holy water all the time. The new EP is miles worse than sfbm".
