I think you missed the part where he said he ain't comin back

He'll be gone at least until the next song is put forth, maybe even longer.

Big range of opinions on this one, from the awful wall of noise to a rocking comeback song, but most leaning towards average at best. A bit reminiscent of the reactions to SFBM when it came out if you go back and read the 2006 era threads. Which is about what I expected. I felt that the band was holding onto this as long as possible because they knew once it was out some wouldn't like the sound and would be turned off from buying concert tickets to see them. But by now most of us have our tickets and there's no refunds. A good marketing move perhaps? There was no way they were going to release an album everyone would like.

All in all it seems like a safe comeback song. It's got a faster tempo but lots of poppiness mixed in. The lyrics are general and as others have mentioned don't touch on anything deep or epic. A good song to play in front of people who aren't too familiar with Live and might possibly get pulled in by the sound (like Counting Crows fans?).

After listening for a few days I still have a good overall opinion of the song. Not a big fan of the lyrics, but they could be worse. And I do like the sound of the music, even what Zak and Robin bring. Maybe it could use a little more bass for my tastes. But admittedly I am not near as sophisticated in musical understanding or talent as most here. I like what I like and don't always have a good reason or explanation for it.

I will still see them in concert and buy the EP and hope there are some songs that are a bit deeper lyrically. If there aren't? Then I will try to enjoy the album for what it's worth in rotation of Live albums I own and wait for what comes next from the band.

Congrats to Pat for being the only Live member that hasn't been replaced by a doppelganger. Now if only Live would use him more.

Looks like Robin Diaz leaked the setlist. If you follow him on Instagram the setlist is taped to the floor in his little warm up video.

Tough to see for sure but looks like the usual setlist + Love Lounge and Pillar of Davidson.

Either they are incapable or don't care enough about true fans to play deep tracks. Either way, its disappointing.

Agreed. I didn't expect much more though. Interesting they'll be headlining in Australia again without even headlining in the States. So frustrating. Of course, after I see them I'm sure I'll be over the moon like always. I just wish they could of at least given us more than one new song after all this time.

tells me they dont have much confidnce in the new stuff. they played a lot off the turn at the show i went to.

they are relying on the old hiots, not surprised.

they are a very porrly managed band i think we all can agree on that. lots of poor decisions

The day isn’t over yet, but I still highly doubt this will happen...
Why don’t they use social media to ask the fans going to the concert tonight one deep track they would like to hear? Switch that one song up every concert and then we are all happy. Many bands do this. They asked us collectively a long time ago what we would like to hear. So what was the point?

They don't seem to like to vary from the rehearsed setlist. I remember one of the band member's being asked if they would add a certain song once and the reply was "we'd have to relearn it" or something like that. I've accepted the fact that they aren't an on the fly, switch it up every night kind of band but why not put some deeper tracks IN the rehearsals? Put some effort into changing it up for the real fans and not some casual fan at a Counting Crows show?

because they dont rehearse or at least they didnt used to. they hated each otherand they all had different schedules and would record separately their parts of songs and piece them together in studio

they arent going to bring out any gems and they sure arent going to make any extra effort for fans. never have unless you count hiliday gifts

they are going to stick to songs they can play in their sleep and go through the mmotions
