Definitely is a better song than Solara from Smashing Pumpkins.

No f'n way this is better than Solara by SP, which is not great, but it blows "Love Lounge" away, hands down!

So you mean it sounds mechanical? I sorta agree with you, and I think it might be the double drumming and guitars making a "machine with too many gears" feel which might be more prominent in the video mix. The mix on Google Play sounds a lot better to my ears than the one on the video.

I use “electronic sounding” to describe rap music that’s “fake”, played not with real instruments, but that beat machine or whatever it is used. But I highly doubt that’s what you mean, huh?

Wow, that song by Adam K’s new band The Band Alow is amazing! Lyrically and musically, it sounds like it could be a new Live song. “Pick your head up from your phone. While the lines you scroll are beautiful, your truth is worth its weight in gold.” Thank you for pointing me in the direction of Adam’s new music. I didn’t know it was out there.

Right?! It is sooo good. I really like Adam's voice, too! I just Alow's 3-song EP on Friday and have been listening to it nonstop.

Possibly! I remember him saying the same for the The Turn when Live initially released TWAIT and he was right. I may be wrong. Out to Dry?

Listened to it enough times to form an opinion. I think it's fair. Kinda sounds like a mix of Ed's solo stuff with Live flavor. I can hear Gracey's drumming for sure. Don't love the guitar intro/riff. The bridge is my favorite part and I hope there's an extended jam during live performances.

As far as Zak getting a writing credit, I'm not thrilled about that level of collaboration. Apparently he wrote the riff that I'm not a fan of. With that said, there were several non-Live writers on The Turn, so maybe it's the new normal. I'm very curious as to how Zak came into the band and whether CCP are happy with it. Chad T certainly seems so, but he's the kind of guy who loves everything then after the fact will say "that sucked" (read his blog posts on SFMB).

If this is run of the mill song off their upcoming album I'm fine with it, but if it's the best song from their upcoming album it'll be a disappointment. The Way Around is Through was the only single from The Turn and the consensus here was that it was just a run of the mill song, whereas the best songs were Siren's Call and 6310 Rodgerton Dr.

Also the production value/mix seems really sloppy. Doesn't really sound professional. will be curious to hear a live version.

I think the next step in seeing what direction Live is headed will be he songs they pick for their set lists for the Counting Crows shows.

Wow ok good one. Literally didn’t get the next line about the door was still open but ok. You use the word “still” pretty liberally since I haven’t posted or followed Live in 18 months. Only knew this was a thing as a friend posted about it on Facebook. I always told myself I was cautious but I’d give whatever release they first had a listen. I mean, I could argue what is a real Live fan doing posting here praising this when they should be absolutely disgusted at the levels the band has plummeted to, but eh. You do you.
As for the production - yep, it’s an absolute mess and surely was designed to save money.
I can sort of understand if they wanted it to be truly “in house”, even though Jerry is as much tied to Live as anyone - maybe the timing didn’t work out. That’s cool. Maybe they wanted their comeback to truly be about the original 4 doing everything themselves grass roots style. If so, having Zak write is even more puzzling in that light. As is the disappointment of this being what they served up. But at least it’s given us an insight into what their work will be going forward. The small part of curiosity I had was answered
