Not a fan at all. The lyrics make no sense to me, but I guess a lot of the lyrics on SS don't make sense. CG's drumming is the best part of this song. I have been listening to Adam K's new stuff and it blows this straight out of the water.

This is the beauty of music, it cannot please everybody. Adam's new song does not do it for me, it is very generic and nothing special, Love Lounge is more memorable and its chorus is very powerful.

Here is the video - his new band is called Alow:

Also they are on facebook, twitter and instagram @thebandalow

"Behind the Screen" is freaking amazing.

This is great! Thanks for linking to it.

Love Lounge is nothing more than I expected - mediocre at best. Not something I'll listen to a 3rd time.

This very well could be a case of "it's me not you" so it's cool that people are digging the tune.

I'll check out the EP when it drops, but I already had one foot out the door once they reunited with Ed.

I waited out of courtesy but I've slammed the door behind me now.

I love that the song sounds current. They weren't trying to recreate their songs from the 90's, they went in a new, rocking direction. But they still sound like Live. I couldn't be more happy with the song.

I woke up more nervous than excited to hear the single, but in the end Live surprised the heck out of me. Ready for the tour!

Nothing's changed with you has it? Still full of shit.

Wow.

This is bad.

Thanks to Ed they are definitely trying to sound trendy. But those trends are long gone.

Too bad.

Exactly this.

How has Love Lounge been received in the Netherlands and Australia?

My local radio station (96FM) mentioned the track this afternoon. Said it was the first track from Live in 10 years and that they had been touring with Guns N' Roses and Lollapalooza. He also mentioned that their EP will also be called Love Lounge. Not sure how accurate that info is. Anyway, they didn't play Love Lounge - Selling the Drama got played instead.

I played the song for a friend who always laughs at my Live obsession even though he loves their heyday material, and he thinks its the bomb. He's 28 and a total hipster douchebag but hey, there's some optimism to be taken from that. I guess its weird that Live could be appealing to THAT crowd.

My personal feelings of the song keep evolving like all new Live music but the reality is my favourite band in the whole world is making music in 2018. I'm ecstatic!

I would not be surprised if this had some commercial success.

I think that's a good thing. They probably need to be, and to some extent I think that's what they went for.

I'm happy with it, and my partner liked it (that's a first, lol). I've concluded that Love Lounge sounds like what they should have done after V. Since a number of folks have been wishing for a giant reset button since around that time; well, it may not be perfect but here ya go. bthumb.gif

You're welcome! He has a 3-song EP out as well that you can get by emailing them (links are in their instagram). I really like their sound a lot!

I will give Live's full album a chance whenever it comes out, but Love Lounge is nothing like I expected them to sound like upon Ed's return.

I really like the new song. I think it's to the band's credit that they are moving in a new direction and aren't just trying to write "Throwing Copper Lite".

I find it interesting that so many seem to think the sound of this song comes from Ed somehow taking the band back over, when it's very clearly got CT's fingerprints all over the composition. It feels a lot like what they were doing in The Turn, but taken in a lighter direction. If anything, I feel Ed's been pulled in an entirely new direction from usual rock anthems he's been doing solo by CCP's composition.

My only disappointment is that we're only getting an EP. The guys have been back together so long, the fact that they've only written less than a full albums worth of material that they are willing to release is worrying.

My gut reaction is the the new song is pretty crappy overall. I think Ed's second solo effort had better music, and the same for CCP on the turn and TGF. I'm not big on that QOTSA rhythm, and definitely want Zak Loy out of the band because I don't need some generic rocker in Live. If you want to have Chris Thorne or someone do something cool that compliments the music then maybe, but Zak is the dude that everyone thought couldn't hold a candle to Chad when Ed first went solo. Now it's basically the zak loy show and his buddies Ed and CCP. Definitely not a fan of Ed's straining voice. Not a fan of shoot that fear. That other short clip that Chad leaked sounded equally as crappy as this track. Still have hope for 10000 cups and the other tracks though, still think Live has potential.
