"Love Lounge"

Once upon a time in deja-vu land
I kissed you on the lips and sent you away
Then I fell into the hole inside my heart
Now you're back and everything is lovely
Our finest hour like eternity
But there's just one more thing I got to show you, baby

The leaves have fallen, it's the winter
The thaw of springtime is a long way off
I'll keep you happy in the meantime
Come to the love lounge, I'll be right along, yeah

Shoot that... fear!
Shoot that... fear!

Through the smoke I see her comin' near me
Through the haze I see the hourglass
Hypnotized or mystified now I don't know
So be gentle with my tender soul, babe
Unless you wanna send me reelin' again
Hey maybe we should find a quiet place instead?
Yeah

The leaves have fallen, it's the winter
The thaw of springtime is a long way off
I'll keep you happy in the meantime
Come to the love lounge, I'll be right along, yeah

Shoot that... fear!
Shoot that... fear!

The leaves have fallen, it's the winter
The thaw of springtime is a long way off
I'll keep you happy in the meantime
Come to the love lounge, I'll be right along, yeah

Shoot that... fear!
Shoot that... fear!

Not a fan at all. The lyrics make no sense to me, but I guess a lot of the lyrics on SS don't make sense. CG's drumming is the best part of this song. I have been listening to Adam K's new stuff and it blows this straight out of the water.

I'm surprised everyone here is so negative about it... I love it! It sounds super modern and I can't compare it soundwise to much in Live's catalog. Yeah, the lyrics aren't good on paper, but they haven't been good on paper for a long time. This feels like V lyrics with paper thin metaphors (hourglass = a woman's figure for example) and the overall meaning of this song (hey Bb u want sum fuk?)

The thing is... I love V! I'll take this over SFBM any day. Shoot your fear folks!

Where can I listen to Adam’s new stuff? I googled him and the latest music that comes up is from 2005.

I'm bummed. I guess this feels like a natural progression from the likes of Purifier.

I miss The Turn.

Here is the video - his new band is called Alow:

Also they are on facebook, twitter and instagram @thebandalow

"Behind the Screen" is freaking amazing.

How has Love Lounge been received in the Netherlands and Australia?

I haven't seen too many response from Dutch fans yet, but it looks mixed. Not surprisingly after such a long wait and with such a diverse group (from very early 'freaks' up to EddieK-fans).

I really like the sound of this song, especially the bridge somewhere halfway, and makes me long for more. It's definitely catchy as I've already found myself repeating some of the lyrics hours after listening. Not sure if it will hold though. It is modern but also a bit generic, and feels too short to make real emotional impact.

I read somewhere that the it's about the lounge where Chad T and Ed met to reconcile a few years back. That would explain some of the lyrics.

Most of that album is better than this, yes.

The mastering is also atrocious. A wall of sound. Brickwalled. Awful, no dynamics whatsoever.

Aren't they working on an EP and not a full-length album as of yet?

All I can say is that I hope so and I hope that it's being written and recorded in the same vein that V was.

This doesn't sound like +Līve+ and not necessarily in a good way. Not in the way that Lakini's Juice didn't sound like +Līve+ but you could still hear that it was them. Just the natural progression.

There's nothing about this song that sounds natural to me. The busy buzzing bee guitar riff is not Chad T. I mean... is Loy the main guitar player now? Also, wtf is that "shoot that fear" thing about? It just sounds... fucking weird.

If this weren't branded as +Līve+ I wouldn't be disappointed, but that's just because I have higher expectations. I liked the other song that Chad T teased on his Instagram account far more. Hopefully that one sees the light of day soon.

Also, I hope I can get into this song more later because I'm just not feeling it right now.

Ed says “shoot that fear” is about...”Love and fear are in a kind of constant ‘tug of war’ in ourselves and in the world at large. We live like moths around a flame; perpetually attracted to the light of love yet afraid of the dissolution that surrender necessarily entails. ‘Love Lounge’ is full of that tension lyrically, but melodically it oozes with the seduction of a deep desire to go beyond our limits…’come to the Love Lounge.”

And it’s my favorite part of the song. Quite catchy.

I don't think there is a lot of negativity in this forum. Having in mind the reactions to other songs from Live ie SFBM, and Forever reactions to Love Lounge are mixed to positive here, which is a surprise to me considering that the expectation by some fans was TC2 or SS2 or even another The Turn with Ed.

It's nothing like the stuff on BOP or SFBM, which is a great start.
Makes me excited about what's to come.
