Even if you take away everything else, everyone has to agree that CAG rocked the F out of this song and the rest of the song really flows well. Lyrics seem to be the main sticking point, but who cares? Ed sounds awesome, and the song itself is so good. I do hope they get some of the TC/SS feel back on some songs, but every band changes and I can personally live with this new sound.

I agree. It terms of quality, this song doesnt sound or compare to TC/SS but its a huge upgrade from what we have heard recently and overall a very solid song.

Everyone, do yourself a favor, listen to this on headphones or real speakers, the low end is insane, especially during the bridges. I didn't notice it the first few listens on my laptop speakers, but on my full size headphones

This very well could be a case of "it's me not you" so it's cool that people are digging the tune.

I'll check out the EP when it drops, but I already had one foot out the door once they reunited with Ed.

I am undecided if i like the song or not. However, reflecting on this as a Live song:

1. Live has never released anything similar. So there is no Live album or song to relate it to.
2. I would not recognise this as Live if i did not know that it was a Live song. I would not even recognise Ed signing.
3. The song is powerful. The singing has a poppy feel to it but it is still full of energy, especially the chorus. I do not like the "shoot that fear" part because it makes it even more poppy. I would prefer the music to unfold with some louder guitars.
4. It may attract new fans. It is a catchy song with no lalala dadada etc

I definitely need to listen to it again and again and leave by biases and expectations aside.

Quite different then I expected (and I already expected it to be different in the first place )
I'm in the camp 'not decided yet what to think', but I'll def need some listens. It grows on me.

I had a similar feeling as when I heard Beautiful Invisible and Radiant Sea: it doesn't sound related to any previous work but I guess that makes it cool. We shouldn't be surprsised about that after 10 years without recording together and even much longer ago writing together.

I try to let go how TC, SS, TDTH sounded and be open minded in what they create anno 2018. When they first started with TDOAD and MJ there was nothing to compare it with either, so let's just see where the other songs will take them.

It's quite quite 'electronic' sounding, more than any other record. I guess that's how modern rock sounds nowadays so at least they are relevant.
I like the loud guitars and I'm not dissapointed in Eds singing. The Shoot That is a bit weird, maybe I need to hear it more often.

Curious about the general reactions or reviews, they'll gain some attentiion with releasing something after 10 years.

Excited to hear an EP is in the making, but I hope we get it before the end of the year. I have a feeling a full album is not coming soon, but at least they're busy creating music and that's enough for now.

I love it. It will never be in my top 10 favorite LIVE songs, but I love what they’ve put together and I already can’t wait to hear more songs. Congrats Live on your new song. So excited to hear it in person July 21 in Austin. Until then...

Yeah, try it with headphones not watching the video ... I have to agree with others that the shoot that part is out of place and not needed (it makes a little more sense at the very end of the song), but otherwise this is an amazing song that is more in line with modern rock but that's fine! The changes during the song are great - reminds me a little of Muse (not the overall song, just the changes/background guitar riffs) which is awesome. Loving it so far.

I am in divided mind for the time being. When i see it as anew i tend to like it. However, when i think that this same band made Hold me up, Iris and Gas Hed (not to mention their hits) i want to run away. But then i think that this band made albums like V and SFBM and i smile.

I think thats a fair perspective. Can't compare to those early songs or anything off TC/SS but a huge improvement to V and SFBM.

Different and short, but overall I like it. I'm not 100% sold on the lyrics and I don't really pull a lot meaning out of the song but sometimes it takes a while for me to really start appreciating some of the band's songs so I will give it a few more listens.
