Overall very disappointed with the Q&A. They only answered the easy questions and doesn’t seem like there will be variety in the set list again. The Distance, Heaven, Dance with You are not deep tracks at all and for whatever reason they have real reluctance to play songs they haven’t tried in the past. Crazy how some bands mix it up every night and Live can’t do that. Also stinks they there won’t be a proper Live tour in 2019 either.

Re: Heaven, I agree with you. But I think the Distance and Dance With You are fine. What constitutes a deep track, exactly? I'll wait for an actual setlist before I judge them for not mixing it up some. We're getting a new song, at least.

That said, I agree, I wish they would just re-learn all of their songs, or learn to jam, and play different stuff every night. I think they'd get a much better fan reaction from the whole catalog, but it's really who they wanna play to, I guess. Opening for another band, hits are prolly a better bet to please the audience.

I'm just excited that we are getting a new single very shortly, and an expansive summer tour. New Live music and shows with the original line-up is something that seemed impossible only a few short years ago.

Since the songs name-dropped are Ed-friendly, would seem like he’s picking what would keep Ed happy.

You would think that they would all collaborate on the set list in the end.

Check this link at around 5:40 for the process (according to CT) of putting together the setlist for the South Africa shows.

However this was for the 2 hours+ sets that were played on that tour...

This also. I would def still go see them with only a standard setlist, or with no new music or whatever.

Still, I'd be over the moon for 10000 Years or Dont Wait or Insomnia or Hold Me Up. Or all of them in a night, lol. I'm convinced that if they just started mixing it up all the time, people would get totally on board. I'll still go see them and rock out either way though, lol. rockin.gif

I'm also sure for this tour, the hit list is mostly a better bet, because they're opening, and a lot of people will be CC fans and only casually know Live. They need to consider their audience.

I Am The Highway has been refreshing, and I sorta hope they record a nice studio cut of it.

For me, Heaven was the beginning of the end of Live. Poor choice for a single and was Ed's song all the way.

For me, the beginning of the end was The Distance To Here album!
MJ, TC, & SS, I do not skip a single track when I listen. TDTH, I skip the following—
-The Distance
-Sparkle
-Run to the Water
-Sun
-Face & Ghost
-Feel the Quiet River Rage
-Meltdown
-They Stood Up For Love
-We Walk In the Dream
-Dance With You

Uhhh, basically almost the entire album. Songs that Live fans seem to worship, like They Stood Up For Love, I just don’t get the appeal. Blech!! Way too soft rock for me. I surmise it’s when Ed got a little more control and those are more his style. No likey.

Glad you said that. I thought the same. Wonder if they actually hand-pick the questions themselves?! Like, why did Ed choose, “What does it feel like to be back in Live?” facepalm.gif Who asks that kinda question over a year later?

Interesting. Chad T. —“Ed has to want to sing it.”

Thanks for the link.

I'm actually surprised that it isn't back in the setlist.

I'm in the same boat with Fleetwood Mac and the Stones. I don't think it's a "being a band" thing so much as maybe not alienating casual fans, but who knows? I just know I'd enjoy a revolving setlist. I would think it would be more fun for the band too, but it's their music and story to tell. I'll listen either way. nod.gif

Maybe we'll get the Big Bang version. I'd be so happy, lol.

I think TDTH is an incredible album, Maybe their best. I would love to hear Feel the Quiet River Rage in concert.
