It’s Live’s own fault, really. They should have generated more hype around their reunion and RELEASED A NEW SONG like, a year ago.

They/their people should have gotten a tour together straight up, right away, instead of doing a smattering of festivals last year. But the numerous times I’ve pointed that out, y’all think they do everything perfecto. shrug.gif

Well, this goes back to 2013 Summerland tour. Release The Turn the fall after that tour and the result would have been different. It came out more than a year after, everyone forgot about them because they almost didn't tour in 2014 prior to the release of the album.

To be honest, Live, or their management, haven’t made the best marketing choices for years and years. It also has a little something to do with them not having a decent album since 1999. blush.gif You can’t count The Turn as a Live album. -I’m not saying that to be snarky.

I bet from Live's perspective they are making all the right moves. Just doesn't cater to hardcore Live fans.

I think the band is doing very well since their reunion. They diluted themselves with a new lead singer and ed’s solo career. Now that they are back, they headlined in Australia, played on some pretty huge festivals worldwide , and now are preparing to go on their largest North American tour in nearly 20 years.

I am betting a new single drops with the tour. It is an exciting time to be a Live fan.

As mattyeagles said, Live messed things up, due to their snail’s pace. With the right timing (last summer), Live could have had bands opening for them. They currently could still tour mid sized venues with someone opening for them. —The Vettes or some other 90s act. Alanis would have been an awesome bill, but now she’s mostly doing her own shows overseas this summer.

They’d better at least coheadline w/ the Crows... equal stage time each night or I’m going to be furious.

From what I'm hearing, the summer tour is co-headline, and Live gets a full set.

Live could have had plenty of bands open for them this summer, but they wouldn't be playing ampitheaters.

3 years ago, the thought of Live playing another the show together would have been impossible. The fact that we are getting an expansive nationwide tour with the original line-up is amazing, especially considering the situation from 2009-2016. I'm grateful.

I am very grateful to see them play a full tour together again. I saw them play a festival last summer and the show was great. That being said, I rather see them in an intimate venue with an expansive setlist this summer rather than an amphitheater opening or co-headlining with a familiar setlist.

Yes, play smaller venues. It's like they don't want to gain the public positive attention. They want to get the main stage right away. They'll get it, but with a shorter set, because it's not true that a counting crows/Live tour will give a 20 songs per group, forget it.

I’m tired of it being insinuated when pointed out that Live could have done more things the last year OR could have went about it in a different way, that I’m not a grateful fan. It’s far the opposite. Ed leaving years ago literally hurt my heart. Three years ago I hadn’t given up hope he would return, I knew he would. I had willed it. Lol You can go back that far and check my posts. I am extremely passionate about this band and I’m very thankful to have all four members, seeing that many of the best, such as Scott Weiland, are no more. With that said, I am also one to be honest about what I see and not just accept. And sorry, Live’s spent a lot of the last year and first three months of this year sitting on their hands. It’s not just my expectation as a hardcore fan (Bremang). I can compare Live to other bands (I can list them) who capitalize on their situations and/or status.

Glad to know that their stage time with Counting Crows will be equal (how the heck do you acquire the inside knowledge?!). I hope to not be forever jealous of the Aussie fans.

I hate festivals. And amphitheaters. Hope to see Live in an intimate venue in this lifetime.

I don't know if they will have equal lengths, I just heard that Live is getting a full set.

Have we confirmed that Counting Crows is the other band? Without trying to insinuate anything, I'm mostly just grateful they're back together and touring too. I hope we get new music soon, though. I'm really ready for a new Live album. rockin.gif

God, if that isn't the truth ..... I've really wondered about the promotion ( or lack therof ) over the years. There have been so many squandered opportunities it is unreal. It makes me sad because they really are, what I consider, the best band to come out of this genre. Just my opinion and I am biased since I have been a fan such a long time but it really does make you wanna shake your head.
