I'm down with this, but only if it has neither five nor six songs.

Yeah and from hoping to get some sort of online release in 2017 we are now to the point that a full album in 2018 isn't certain anymore. Guess we'll have to wait.

Still wonder whats up with the delay of playing new stuff live. They actually said Pinkpop would def get one or more new songs and they said it later before other shows. Still it doesn't happen. I understand the focus on the classic hits very well, but why holding back each time?

If you listen to both of those interviews - In the first one Ed says there are five or six songs ready and then in the second he says there are six or seven. lol.

but why holding back each time?

Firstly there was the death of Chris Cornell, which meant Live started playing an extra cover in their set which presumably replaced 10,000 Cups. Then Chad Gracey hurt his arm which meant there was an extra drummer on stage and it wouldn't be right to play a brand new song without Chad being at his best. Now, their shows are getting rained out and cancelled early. I'm really hoping that Live manage to debut some new stuff soon.

Also, Ed has mentioned in several interviews that Live will be playing tracks from all the albums. Does that include albums from 2001 onwards?

I would hope that after Australia, Live locks themselves in the studio with a producer and finishes their new music. The band really needs to get a new album out by the first half of next year. That way they can tour Worldwide Summer/Fall/Winter 2018 behind it.

2019/2020- a 25th anniversary tour of Throwing Copper with the original line-up will be too big of a tour to pass up. The new album has to be out and supported before then.

This just seems like the obvious way to go. Festivals. Break/Record. Headlining Tour. Break. TC Anniversary Release/Tour .

Could be a number of reasons. Being professionals and seasoned vets at this, I would think they would deliver a new track in concert when they feel they are ready for it's debut. Quite possibly, they aren't rehearsed enough for that debut. Maybe they have re-worked the track(s) and more work remains to be done. Just because they had hoped to unveil something by now but have decided now is not the right time is not something we should criticize the band for. Remember, it's easy to be on our keyboards dictating a setlist; it's another to be the creators of the music and wanting to be proud of that work.

Let's just hope that when they do deliver, it's a killer!

Not criticizing, just trying to understand how things work.

Fair reasons!
