I'm sure they'll be able to tell us before the release. They've always told me whenever I have asked before.

Could be they haven't actually pressed them yet, although that seems to be cutting it a bit fine!

I'm sure these are already in production. There is no way they could be shooting for a June 2nd release day and not started the pressing process yet. I would guarantee that MOV had the audio in hand and to the pressing plant in 2016. The turn around time for pressing vinyl is long these days. There aren't enough plants to keep up with demand.

That said, they may be waiting until these are out the door before they release too many details. Or, they may not know all of the details yet if the band delivered the files to them.

They partner with Record Industry which claims to be one of the biggest plants around.

It appears they are clearing/syncing things with management before the official word goes out. Maybe they put the pre-sale links up a bit early.

I'm sure it is, and I am sure they get priority since they do so much work with them, but I guarantee that these were still put into production many months ago. They have to cut the lacquers and then make the master stampers, and then make the test presses. After all those steps are approved by the label, then they go into final production. Given that we're a month away from their announced release day, I'm sure they are already past the test press stage and queued for production.

You're probably right in that they are probably waiting on management or info from the band before they release those details.

Ordered mine from Amazon UK yesterday. No idea if I'll get a special coloured one. Not too fussed tbh - they're going on the wall!

I picked up the ltd. ed. pink editions yesterday of SS and TDTH.
I don't know how they sound, haven't checked that yet...
While the artwork and quality of SS is gorgeous, alas the same can't be said of TDTH.
The sleeve artwork is low res and the inlay "booklet" is just a print of the CD booklet.
It looks and feels like those poor Polish copies that are in heavy circulation at the moment. sad.gif

Thanks for posting pics of the TDTH vinyl. Would you be able to post higher resolution images? Thanks!

Hope this illustrates what i mean. lol.gif

I'm thinking they probably don't have the source material to work with.
So they might have used the original cover from 1999 of the LP or [spaghettimonster forbid] resorted to scans of the CD.

I looked up the original 1999 vinylrelease of the album and it's an exact copy of the inlay. So they are forgiven for that one, as it's a replica of the original.

On Discogs you can see more scans of the original and the 2017 reissue.

unfortunate about the low resolution. The original release looks quite nice. It too has a printed sheet with the CD booklet printed across it though.

I need to find a reasonable way to get the pink copies imported to the USA. Does anyone have suggestions for a good place to acquire them?

You can try Bol.com as i usually order from there and they also ship abroad.
Shipment info Bolcom

I can't tell if these are the Pink versions though as the site isn't clear about that.
For TDTH there's also an orange version limited to 2000 copies available.

Thanks, unless they explicitly say pink, I'm going to assume they are the orange and silver versions. I have those pre-ordered through soundstagedirect, and I'll grab the black copies when most places get those here.

Uh, really want the TDTH one for my wall but shame to hear about the image quality. Gonna sit and wait for more verdicts before pulling the trigger. As a graphic artist by trade I don't handle low-res anything very well.

I pulled out my OG copy of TDTH, and the elements on the cover are of mixed quality. Some of the designs show pixelation (as the photos above indicate), but others are super crisp. I have a feeling that the some of the source files weren't very high resolution. In fact, if you look at the CD artwork closely, you can see the same aliasing around the black and white graphics. So, the quality on the MOV reissue is probably as good as it is going to get.

That said, it seems kind of dumb to pay all that money for a vinyl copy of the record, when you can just download and print a high resolution copy of the cover art. Records are for listening to!!!

JEDIT: just got shipping notification from soundstagedirect!!
