Yeah, because the intro in this version is LONGER because it was recorded from the cassette to PC that way! Every version i have heard sounds the same, it's just the quality that's different. Now, we need a good clean mastered version from a cd.

Yeah pretty subtle. Crazy how much effort was put in the studio if they created so many similar mixes

Ok so first impression is that this is definitely a different performance than the versions we have. All of the prior versions including the zack and miri one, are of the same recording/performance, just at different qualities/speeds. This is not. Ive listened to hold me up a million times and I'm 100% certain this is a different take.

And on top of that I actually think this is new Ed which is strange because it is very good. Anyone else think this is a recent re-recording?

EDIT: Sorry, it seems that in my excitement I didn't read any of the previous comments. So I'm not the only one who thinks this is a re-recording? And yes, the time is NOW. This is the song the world deserves from Live.

Definitely not a recent recording, had to be recorded during the TC era without a doubt, not new Ed.

It definitely sounds different to me. Oddly enough Ed did part of this song at his very last solo show which would have been around the time Live got back together. Here's hoping! I want to see the entire song live!

Im guessing there is zero chance that any of this recording is new. This production on the guitars and drums is clearly not from this millennium. You want to hear how Jerry Harrison does drums now, listen to TGF and The Turn. Ed Kowalczyk has not had an edge where he screamed like that in this millennium either.

It seems like some or all of the vocal performance was used on multiple versions of the track, and the demos were made with different pitches, speeds, and other subtle differences in the guitars. I mean there are some clear differences between the tc demo and this version, like the delay and amplitude used on the drum beat that hits right before the chorus. I know pitch shift will change those qualities sometimes, but not as much as they differ in these tracks. They're definitely different mixes.
