Wow thanks Dan!
We waited so long for this happy.gif
Sounds great.

Somehow it sounds a bit different than the version we heard in the 'porn' movie. But that was the original too right. Is your version a newer one?

Imagine them rerecording the song and releasing it as a real single. That would give them some nice attention.
They always said they didn't released it because it wasn't the right time. That time is now.

Nice!

You said "a" studio version. Not "the" studio version. And you are being coy... Is this a new recording? Either way, awesome!

AGREE!! It is the right time! Just last night I was all bored angry.gif, thinking how it's still 3 weeks or so until their first festival and wishing they'd give us something new. An update, a vid with a sneak peak of what they're working on in the studio, anything.

I'm listening to this studio version and comparing it to the remastered one we all have. I'm not entirely convinced it's new, but HOPING.

Thank you, Dangum!! smile.gif

Someone ripped this from a cassette tape, and you can tell it's the same version from the demo tape. It's been recorded from the cassette to a PC in a better way i would say.

Wooohooo! Thanks Dangum!!

It seems all versions of hold me up are different. My guess is that we have four different sources.

The TC demo tape version seems a little bit faster with slightly different pitch than this new version. You can see the TC demo tape version ends sooner than this version.

Both the TC demo and this version seem different from both of Kevin Smiths versions. I say "both" because after listening to the Mallrats DVD clip and the Zack and Miri clip, they seem to have different pitches and tempos from each other, which means Kevin had access to two different studio versions!

Reminds me of how We Deal in Dreams on the Greatest hits vs. XM version differ slightly by pitch.\

Wonder what this source is all about and what else might be on the tape

Does anyone want to take a crack at the lyrics?

25 seconds in - Your metaphors, your silent _______?

Sounds different from the end of the song "your silent _____"

Also the end of the song, a fall from grace would do us ________ today?

Yeah, because the intro in this version is LONGER because it was recorded from the cassette to PC that way! Every version i have heard sounds the same, it's just the quality that's different. Now, we need a good clean mastered version from a cd.
