When I Google search freaks4live the website comes up with the header "Love Worth Fighting For Marriage Event". It does lead to their site.

Anyone else getting this?

This is what I see when I search for "freaks4live" in Google.

The 5th site listed in the "Love Worth Fighting For Marriage Event", but clicking on it doesn't bring me to http://www.freaks4live.com

That's weird. It's at the top of my list, but it does take me to F4L. That said, if this event is what I'm guessing it is, Kirk Cameron can f right off. facepalm.gif

Makes sense. Chance The Rapper is headlining. He's from Chicago.

It is possible to get in Lollapalooza without a ticket. I've done it before.

Was pretty easy - Just walked the perimeter and got in through a gap in the fence in an area without a lot of traffic.

I was trying to find the main stage with Sound Garden but ended up at some electronic stage.

Pretty sure I posted about that back when I did it.

I don't quite know what to expect, but I know what I hope for. I hope that they record an album of songs with music and lyrics like Mental Jewelry. And I hope that the album is not too polished and over-produced and sterile sounding. They have their own studio and all the time and technology in the world to record and perfect tracks and add layers and eliminate blemishes and sand down the knots in the wood, and make every note perfect. And Ed's solo albums and Live's last 3 albums, and most music created today, sounds polished to perfection. It's sterilized and sounds like it is carefully poured from a digital can. But I hope that they listen to the early rock n' roll recording and the greats from the 60's and 70's, and their own album Mental Jewelry, and attempt to make a rock n' roll album that has a raw, organic sound and energy. I would think that as artists, that would be a creative challenge and inspiring. I hope it is not too over-produced. And I want the lyrics to be counter-culture, counter-establishment, post-political, universally spiritual, and urgent. I don't need fake angst. I don't want to hear about love or their children or meditation. I want a profoundly deep, introspective, urgent call for personal and societal change. I don't care if it takes them 5 years to find the place within themselves where they can create that kind of album. I will wait. I basically want an older, wiser Mental Jewelry 2.0. I think Live fans would like to hear that and I think the world is ready to receive that.

They tried that with songs like Bring the people together and What are we fighting for. Polished, but that is their version of mj 2.0 in terms of being political and countering.

I hate both of those songs. That may have been their version of being political or rebellious, but if that is all they can muster now as an attempt at MJ 2.0, with 4 of them are making music together as a team, then this will be a very short ride for me.

I don't only want a couple of festival greatest hits 60 minute sets and an album of What Are We Fighting For. In fact, out of every possible scenario, that is the opposite of what I want.

I want 2+ hour blistering rock shows at the Chameleon Club and Electric Factory in Philly, with deep cuts and hard core fan favorites. I want more songs like "Poets and preachers and politicians, they've all had their say... 10,000 devoted to nothing but tomorrows and yesterdays".

I know they can deliver that. But will they? That is what I want to find out.

Ed can't scream, and they're old! That's it man. Look at how nuts 1991-1995 Live was. It is not coming back again, like a rolling thunder chasing the wind. The new stuff could be cool but at best it will sound like TFG and The Turn.

This "they can't do it they are old" crap is getting tired. The Rolling Stones are old, Live is not. Age is not an excuse for a mailed in performance when you are charging people to see a rock show.
