Let's see your set list ideas for when Live headlines in 2018.
Please keep it at 16 songs in the order you'd like to hear them. You know there are going to be the predictable radio hits, but let's keep this interesting by noting where you think they will throw in some new songs. Also, please place an asterisk by two of your "wishes" (the ones that probably won't happen). Also, place two asterisks by two songs that are possible, but might be wishful thinking. Place three asterisks by one song you are pretty sure they will have in there, but wish they would take out!

This was harder than I thought, especially when it comes to the wishfuls and possibles.
Here's mine:

The Dam At Otter Creek**
Stage**
A New Song
Operation Spirit
Pain Lies on the Riverside
Selling the Drama
I Alone
The Dolphin's Cry
Lightning Crashes
Feel the Quiet River Rage***
A New Song
Lakini's Juice
All Over You
You Are the World*
Hold Me Up*

Encore:
White, Discussion

Too heady for me at the moment, so I'll just work off of yours.

I think, including the conditions you placed on the asterisks, you're probably close. I think take out your one asterisk songs and replace them with two additional new songs.

And I'm not sure DAOC is wishful thinking. They should absolutely be opening with that and I'll be pissed if they don't.

First of all, I hope they don't have a permanently fixed set list. It should always have the key hits but I hope they mix up the fill from night to night.

If I saw them I would enjoy this 16:

The Dam At Otter Creek
All Over You
Pain Lies on the Riverside
The Dolphin's Cry
"New Song"
Freaks
Turn My Head
I Alone
Selling The Drama
Gas Hed Goes West
Waitress
Operation Spirit
Lightning Crashes

Encore
Simple Creed
Lakini's Juice
White, Discussion

I'd like to hear:

Meltdown
Top
Hold Me Up
2 or 3 new songs

10 or 11 of whatever the hell they want.

Some of the shows this year should be 16/17 songs long.

My guess or hope for setlist for normal Festival:

Pain Lies on the Riverside
Selling the Drama
All Over You
Beauty of Grey
Lightning Crashes
New Song
I Walk the Line
The Dolphin's Cry
Operation Spirit
Lakini's Juice
I Alone

I would prefer Rattlesnake and Mirror Song too. Dance with You I love, and I wish they could do Turn My Head too.

It would be cool if they did a full 2-hr set with like 20 songs. I wouldn't expect it at festivals, but maybe down the road.

Agree. I saw Springsteen play last month and the setlist was vastly different to the previous show. Granted Live don't have as big a catalogue to choose from but playing the exact same setlist each night must get tedious for the band and for fans who attend multiple shows. Though if history is any indicator, fixed setlists is what we'll get.

I'd love to see Iris, Pillar of Davidson, Graze and Photograph played in concert. I'd also love to see Siren's Call played but accept that this won't happen. It's a shame because I would love to hear how it would sound with Ed at the helm.

I think a stripped down version of Photograph would be awesome, like, a no drums version would be great in concert. The live recording of it from '97 is a good example, although it's a terrible quality recording.

I actually prefer a tight 90 minute set over a 2 hour one.

I like long shows in general, but I will most likely be happy with whatever they do.

I would be very disappointed if any headlining band played a measly 16 songs.

Good lord. 90 minute long concerts are like 12 track stock standard CDs. Totally unimaginative and reeks of doing the bare minimum. I don't want a 'tight' show. I want a show where Live decides to throw in a fan request if they feel like it, or if they sense the audience is in a particularly boisterous mood that they throw in an extra hard rocking track. Some of Live's best shows is when they throw out the setlist.

I just checked out the average setlist length of some of Live's contemporaries in 2016/2017

Green Day - 29 tracks
Pearl Jam - 32 tracks
Radiohead - 23 tracks
Foo Fighters - 26 tracks

What '97 recording is that?

Bush, Collective Soul, Goo Goo Dolls, Everclear all perform 90 minute sets typically.

When Live was performing double encore sets back in 2006, members of the audience would slowly leave after each song. I much prefer a tight 17-20 song set that ends on a high note.
