You'd think whoever was running the website would have replaced all those 10 year old press photos with these by now.

You would think, right? I for one, am not surprised. Their Achilles heel is marketing themselves online and through social media. sad.gif

How so? They seem to be marketing adequately between all the radio and print interviews, socia media blasts, and being part of larger festival promotions.

Ed up to the same old tricks. Two steps in front of everyone else. #FrontMan.

Oh, and CT's mustache is awful.

I disagree with you that they use social media to its fullest. I hear more news out of some washed up 80's bands than Live. Social media is a huge marketing tool and it costs nothing! It's a powerful thing and Live barely uses it. That photographer's Instagram shows those new photos were taken February 18. It's taken us that long to see them, and oops, it's through a European festival ad. Previous poster made a valid point. Why hasn't their 10 year old photo been replaced by those new pictures by now?

Bremang, you and I have discussed this before, anyhoo. I feel Live could have done way more with their time since announcing their reunion. You beg to differ. The few radio and press interviews, I'm thankful for those, as I think we are lucky to get them. If Live used their social media to its fullest potential, I promise you, they would have even more attention.

Anyway, without sounding like a total pain in the butt, I remind myself beggars can't be choosers. I wanted them to get back together for so many years and I try to be patient. But it's difficult. I'm super excited. I've resolved that I probably won't see them until they tour next year and it's a long wait. I can't help but parallel them with several of my other favorite bands and the others do so much more. I'm always saying, "Why can't Live can't do something like that!?" Not exactly sure what it's like behind their scene, I can admit to that. But I am confident that when it comes to Live versus others, something's amiss.

But still, Live are reaching their fans pretty consistently these days. More promo is not always worth the money, and is not necessarily the best way to go. There are plenty of big name artists who remain notoriously silent, and it gives their news more impact.

If those promo pics were taken Feb 18th, then that was a super fast turnaround. Photographers take hundreds if not thousands of pics. They pick the best ones and then spend a lot of time editing, for several clients. Then there's publishing red tape. Those pics are fresh as a daisy.

Why is it better for Live to replace the pics that are 10 years old? Why is it better for Live to put out a new song right now? The product Live are selling is 90's nostalgia. Unless they hit a homerun with a new hit song, and it gets Clear Channel airtime, Live are running a risk with their harming their high selling 90's image with any new material. When the casual fan thinks about Live's later albums, they're turned off or unresponsive. All that new media will be for the hardcore fans and they know we'll wait forever.

I'm fairly certain this is what they're going for. I don't think they've necessarily cultivated the art of radio silence in the way, say, Tool or NIN has. Still, they're doing a fair amount of press, and they aren't small exposures. These are high billings on big festivals, interviews in Rolling Stone and on Sirius, that's pretty fantastic given no single to speak of, and no album with the current lineup in 10 years.

Ed mentioned that Live will be doing 15 - 20 festival shows in the US this year and 1 in Europe. Travelling all the way to Europe for one show sounds like a missed opportunity. With so many Euro festivals occuring in June it would be a good idea to line up a few more while they're there - especially since they're being billed so highly.

I agree with this. So far we have 5 shows confirmed, so, 10-15 more to announce, give or take. Here is what we have so far:

May 19, 2017 - Columbus, OH (Rock on the Range)
May 20, 2017 - Camden, NJ (MMRBQ BB&T Pavilion)
May 28, 2017 - Napa Valley, CA (BottleRock Festival)
June 5, 2017 - Landgraaf (Pinkpop 2017)
July 14, 2017 - Ottawa, ON (Bluesfest)
