According to a comment by Chad Taylor (in a Feb 2017 interview), Live has been working on new music for over a year.

Ed’s really been back in the band, and we’ve been working on new music for a little over a year.

Wonder when the decision was properly made then. WD is gone obv so I can't go back and check the thread about it there, but I think CG and Pat gave an interview suggesting a Sirens Call single release in the summer of 2015. I wanna say August, but that's a bit of a wild guess tbh. They maybe even said they'd made a video. I'm speculating a bit now, don't hold me to it plz.

I wonder if they went down under knowing that incarnation of the band was done. Wouldn't be that surprising, I guess. If obligations had to be met and it's a chance to make some cash and tour with a big name then y'know.

I'm still fuzzy on this timeline.

There has to be some sort of period between Ed/CCP reconnecting and Ed officially replacing Chris. I'm guessing there's also some time between the official decision and then actually working on music. That didn't all just happen in one day, right? These guys don't even live in the same state. Also, wasn't Ed still touring Canada and New York through the end of March 2016?

The article claims it was edited due to the lengthy conversation. Interviewer may be misinterpreting what Chad says. We have Ed sightings since June, which would satisfy the statement that Ed's really been back in the band prior to the announcement.


We also know that Ed had been working on album 3 since 2015, and it seems possible that CCP were working separately on music. That might satisfy the idea that they were working on new music for a little over a year.

So it's possible that Chad meant that Ed was in the band for half a year even though they're all working on new tracks for over a year separately.

Ed and I sat down (a little over a year ago). I always say we had a beer, but the truth is, it was several.

You'll notice "(a little over a year ago)" was edited into this statement. Was this edit compounding the misinterpretation?

Then again, to Merica's point, what was the whole issue with the late 2015 Australia shows? Wasn't there a roadblock initially? Was Ed involved with that?

Found this old thread here on FOL about the Sirens Call single. Earlier than I thought: May 2015. Also suggests a video will be made as opposed to has been made.

So I guess this happening in May as opposed to August gives more time and space for the changeover to happen.
