But it's not the 90's anymore and you'd think they'd have learned by now and do things differently.

They just streamed a live show on new years from their own studio in York, they have their own label, they're on social media, and thinking of releasing an EP because they have no record label pressure to put out an album. So they're definitely different now. BTW, social media is for pansies, Ed doesn't live in Pennsylvania, and the others are busy. I suppose the music will get here when it gets here.

interviews in Rolling Stone aren't small news.

Literally a couple weeks ago. And then Chad went online and wrote a short story about the comments he made. I wouldn't call that being silent.

I'm hearing about 10-20 tour dates this year. Thinking Holland, Australia, Midwest US. Not sure where else. Would love a solo show in the Northeast, but if that happens, I would think an announcement after MMRBQ in May.

They bothered playing a UK gig with Shinn didn't they? Hopefully there'll be at least one date here, all the more possible if they do the Netherlands, which I would think is highly likely.

What about Texas dates (since you have an inside source?)

And only 10-20 tour dates is pathetic, sorry.
I counted 30 Deep Purple dates from May-Aug., and that's just European dates.

I just hope that once Live does some new music, we get a full blown tour.
I will try to be patient.

I haven't heard about Texas. Multiple sources and piecing things together.

I would think after a new album drops, we would get a full tour. Here is to hoping smile.gif

cause a source sometimes helps determine the veracity of a statement....

or maybe the news was put out for the public and i might want to follow that source from now on.

Pathetic? Not even the slightest amount. No.

I understand this is a discussion board for those to voice an opinion. However, many here do not seem to know and understand how marketing has fluctuated and changed over the years within the music industry. Knowing and working side-by-side with +Live+, their management, Ed solo... combined with working over 27 years in the music industry, I am confident with their approach and plan of attack this far.

We, the fans, are not there for day-to-day dealings within the organization. I won't cast assumptions on their workload or how much time each member puts forth with other projects as that's not any of our business and they can do as they please at this point in their career. I understand how fans can get frustrated when their favorite band doesn't do what that fan wishes they do. But, it's that fan who should possibly step back and try to understand that they (the fan) has no clue what is going on behind the scenes.

Speculation runs rampant here without any hint of fact.

QUOTE(Old Man Withers @ Jun 6 2016, 11:46 pm) *

A source of a source has verified that LIVE indeed are reuniting for a series of concerts in the US over the Fall. This is to coincide with a 25th year celebratory album project, which will include brand new recordings and mixes from Mental Jewellery AND Throwing Copper.

This is my one and only post I will make on this subject. The source is real. You will thank me later!

Old Man Withers made more than one post on the subject. I know this means he didn't stick to his word but he probably just needs to relax before overposting.

To clarify, by fall he meant spring 2017. He erred because he was abroad in Australia and confused the seasons.

Oddly, none of this coincides with Eds claims that they have unfinished songs and might release an EP at the end of the year. We will see whats what this year.

I wouldn't freak out.

Keep in mind, they are going from playing a small show where they were noticeably rusty (and understandably so) in front of die hard fans, to a co-headline on the main stage on day one of the biggest rock festival in the US with Rock on the Range. I would imagine they are getting themselves tight as hell and maybe even getting a new bit of material to test out on such a large audience. It is common for bands to go silent in times like this.

I, for one, have my ticket to Rock on the Range, and I look forward to watching them dominate.
