And that's a bloody good thing because The Turn is a great record. I wish Chris is going to have the right to keep selling it.

I'm not sure how they could stop it being sold. Doubtful it's going to get repressed, but there's plenty of stock out there.

Was there alot of stock? I remember trying to buy a physical copy of the CD when it first came out, but noone carried it. Admittedly there aren't many CD stores left, but I ended up just buying a digital copy. I got the impression that if there were actual CDs then there must have been a limited number.

They probably just had horrible distribution. You can still get them on Amazon, I think. That's where I got mine.

Well, Think Loud is a small independent label so they probably didn't print nearly as many copies as they did with Radioactive and Epic.

But Amazon does say there's more on order, so they're presumably still getting distributed somehow even if Live isn't selling it on their website.

You're kidding me, right? I live across the globe and I have a physical copy.

Not kidding. I went to two CD stores (FYE, one of the few chains still hanging on) and another store that carries CDs (Best Buy I think it was) and none had it. In fact, the woman at one FYE even told me that if I couldn't find the CD to let her know because they have a program where they'll download and make a copy of the CD for you on the spot. When I told her I couldn't find The Turn she looked into making a copy for me but ended up telling me that it was in their catalog as an existing album but wasn't available for ordering or downloading.

That was like two years ago and even now when I am a store that sells CDs I will look through the L section to see if they have any Live CDs. I can usually find Throwing Copper and even found SFBM once, but no Turn.

Well, again one has to remember that The Turn was released on an independent label, where-as previous Live albums and even Ed's solo material are distributed through MCA/Universal and Sony. Independent labels just don't have the distribution of big corporations. If you're lucky, maybe you live in a metropolitan area with one or two mom and pop record stores willing to order independent labels, but really in this day and age if you want a physical copy of an independent record your best bet is to buy online through Amazon or Best Buy...

The Turn is still available on a few websites for the time being. If you want a physical copy, now's the time.

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why The Turn wasn't available in record stores in my area. To be honest, I am surprised there are even as many record stores as there are in my area these days. With everything available in digital format instantly and at a lower cost It's hard to see chains like FYE sticking around a lot longer, and the mom and pop places can't be doing much better. At this point I am happy with the digital version I bought from Google Play, though having the liner notes from a real album was always a nice bonus. But I was surprised that a physical album could be bought in Russia while distribution in the US was so limited.

It was for sale on Amazon, what more does one need in this day and age? if one wanted a physical copy, was easy to obtain.

Thanks to the internet, they will never be able to remove The Turn from their history. Any inquiring fan can access every released or leaked song from their catalog if they wish.

The beautiful thing about that is, chad and Ed live in western, industrialised urban centers where they need to drive themselves around from time to time. There will have to be at least monthly occasions were they will cross paths with side-by-side chevron turn signs. Heck I see them every day down here. It is unavoidable!

This reminder will go on for the rest of their automobile driving lives. The Turn will never be forgotten banana.gif
