Sounds like you've bought it hook, line and sinker WD!

Nah, I just don't freak the fuck out at all the shit that, in the grand scheme of things, means nothing.

Much bigger things at play. Trump and his team are using Twitter and the media, who freak out at EVERYTHING, to their advantage.

They are trolling so hard. They did all through the election. They are so far ahead of everyone else it is hilarious.

You don't have to freak the fuck out to be dismayed at what is going on and the trolling is definitely diliberate as it's attempting to hide the heinous shit that is actually going on/being planned. If you actually had positive, progressive action you were implementing then you wouldn't need to be trolling to distract from it. That's childish.

Everyone and their mom in the media ran story after story after story on Trump that was biased or flat out false for the entire election cycle.

I'd troll them too.

Even now the reporting is 100% biased. Take his recent immigration executive order. The executive order doesn't even MENTION the countries to temporarily "ban". It cites an Obama policy. Obama thought these countries dangerous enough to drop a bomb every 8 seconds but Trump putting a temp ban (without dropping one bomb)? OH NOES!

But Obama dropping bombs for 8 years on these countries? Silence from media. Trump stopping them from coming, TEMPORARILY, so the vetting process can be updated/fixed/improved/whatever and he is suddenly the worst guy ever and journos are freaking out and celebrities are crying. Fucking hilarious/absurd.

Obama actually had a 6 month ban in 2011. Silence.

Maybe Trump should just double the amount of bombs and everyone would love him? Maybe he should just bomb the shit out of everyone ever and BEST PRESIDENT EVER GUYS! BOMB ALL THE THINGS!

I love the photos of the protests at the airports. Think how great it would be if people showed up like that to welcome troops home.

Where is Fish?

QUOTE
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull described his conversation with the U.S. leader as frank, constructive, and practical, Australia’s ABC reported.

“We discussed the vital importance of the United States’ continued strong presence in our region,” Turnbull told his nation.

“We agreed that presence has been an absolutely essential foundation of the peace and stability that has enabled the remarkable growth and prosperity — the remarkable economic growth we have seen over the last 40 years,” the Australian leader added.

Stick with Fox News or Breitbart News and stop whining about the media coverage! The media is just reporting the unprecedented push back to Trump's first days in office. If they didn't report it, you'd still see it on social media.

It's almost inevitable; these protests and marches will continue until we eventually see the final "You're fired March" before his impeachment. I've never participated in a march, but when it comes down to it, I won't miss the "You're fired March" for anything in the world. And every single American who despises Trump will gather among the masses, it will be so yuge, it'll be unlike anything you've ever seen.

And when he's finally impeached, the celebrations across this country will be out of this world!

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Latest gallup poll shows media trust at record low. MSM spent the entire election cycle telling us Trump is losing YUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE.

Nice job, NYT

L.A. Times said Clinton wins 332 to 206.

fivethirtyeight.com had Clinton at 80%

Fox, which I don't watch btw, had it 274 to 215 for Clinton.

NYT had Clinton at an 80% chance to win.

ABC had Clinton at 95%! Reuters 90%!

CNN probably had Clinton at 110%

There are dozens and dozens more "polls" just like this. It was a persuasion tactic.

Media is full of shit. Pretty simple. Trump internal polls had him leading in many places where media had Clinton up double digits. If you look at Trump spending, it was all relatively low until the end there was a spike in polling spending. He knew where he was close. Everyone wondered why he was in Michigan when Hillary was up double digits.

Besides, how can you say there is no media bias when the media was openly crying on live television on election night?

Keep drinking the kool-aid. Just hope one of you crazies don't do what many journos and media members are suggesting someone do.

Anyway, this is why I lol'd this thread earlier. We argue about Shinn and Ed. Damn sure won't get anywhere in a politics thread.

Take the advice of the "winners" of the past two elections. "Give him a chance".

Maybe.

But the amount of people who gave him far too little credit is much, much higher.

Sadly, everybody gave Trump just the amount of credit that he deserves. The mistake was giving the voters to much credit. And everyone probably also gave too much credit to Hillary's viability and her ability to campaign effectively. And you are now giving him too much credit, if you think he knows what he is doing and all of this chaos and dangerous rhetoric and actions are a part of a sophisticated plan that will end up make us all better off, but only Trump knows it.

Trump is a huckster. His knowledge is paper thin and he believes conspiracy theories and trusts lunatics. He's petulant. Vindictive. Petty. Bombastic. Insecure. Narcissistic. Has a very short attention span. Uninformed. Easily persuaded (and unfortunately it seems to be Steve Bannon who is pulling his strings). Believes his false perception to be reality.

The President is nuts. And we are all in danger because of him.

I totally forgot to add my own thoughts for posterity! I'd like to look back and see how correct I was.

I see an economic depression in q3 of 2017 that will shake the republicans and they will try to deflect to blaming Obama. People won't buy it though and will start to buy into the message of wealth inequality that some dems are getting behind. The fed will stop raising interest rates after the economy faults in the summer. Rising health care costs, rising costs of money, lowered immigration/international travel to the USA, rising home prices, and less international trade will be behind this depression. Dems will gain one of the houses (senate or congress) in 2018 and what happens in 2020 honestly depends on if dems can get their shit together.

If they can get past identity politics and focus on the fact that we have an out of touch millionaire who promises lots but delivers little (except to his wealthy friends) then they might have a shot. The worst thing they could do is go back to the clinton camp. They need to get someone personable and real like Tulsi Gabbard to run against trump. She is a war vet and believes in policies that create a more equal America in terms of wealth.

On another topic, we can expect the next four years to be a sea of lawsuits against trump and the courts just destroying his administration on ethics and more. Whistleblowing will be common and might even bring impeachment precedings against trump. I don't see them getting anywhere until the senate or congress flip. At this point, the republicans are making deals with the devil to get their agenda passed and they won't let him get impeached. They don't like working with trump, but they hold their nose and deal with it because it's their chance to complete their goals. When they are with healthcare, the environment, immigration, etc, they will likely push back on him with more force. Trump talks a lot on things that congress has control over and makes promises that congress knows are impossible. How can their health care law insure more people for cheaper without giving up entitlements like the 26 rule, pre-existing conditions, etc? How can they build a crazy wall AND pay for more ICE forces while also lowering taxes on everyone but the lower class who doesn't even pay anything? And soon... why should we go to war with a nation when congress is the one who declares war? Oh it's gonna be a mess... bomb.gif

I hate to quote myself, and I am afraid to be right about this, but I am becoming more and more concerned this nut is going to get us into a war that we don't want to be in.

So - Will he win in 2020? What's everyone think?

It's just prior to super tuesday here in the states... it's looking pretty grim from Trump's opposition. As much as I don't like it, it looks like we may have another four years.

It really scares me, as it never ceases to amaze me how so many sickophants are at his hate rallies, still supporting the orange dictator. If he wins another 4 years, we are boned. So get out and vote like your life depends on it... it does!!
