I hope so . I really , really do ! Does anyone else find it a bit boring ? I just don't think it has the usual energy of ANY of the previous releases.

Anyway , I have an hour drive home from work so I will listen again on my way.

It grew on me after 2 or 3 listens, it is different and less energetic but pretty uplifting.
I'm going to see them here in England a week today and I can't wait.

Definitely not boring for me. I've had a leaked copy for several weeks. The first time I heard it, I loved it. My "real" copy came in the mail yesterday. I'm going out today and waste some more gas to get two more copies for friends.

I've played SFBM in my car cd player every day since I first got it. I crank up the bass, turn up the volume to the point that I'm risking the "disturbing others local sound ordinance" and enjoying it very much. Couple of songs on there that I think are somewhat not my favorites, but on the whole, I'm enjoying this cd as much as any I've gotten by them. Also several of the songs are now on my all-time favorite list.

Hope after your second, third, and twentieth time listening, it grows on you and you like it as much as I do!

I got it last night at 12:30 (am). I only have listened to half of the songs... I must admit, it is different, but every album they have is different from the last, and they have a history of growing on me once I get used to them. It is a rather spiritual album, which I like most of the time... but sometimes I'm just not in the mood to be thinking that way. Most of the songs sound rather anthem-ish...which is interesting, but these kinds of songs tend to get old fast. I hope they don't, though. I feel like I am listening the the New Age/Eastern religion version of a Third Day concert with this album. We'll see if I can get over this feeling of being in a Christian rock concert. wink.gif

Give yourself time for the album to grow on you. Liking the singles means that by hearing the songs before you knew what to expect. I bet certain songs grow on you over a few listens. Sometimes it takes awhile with a new CD.

Okay , I gave it a second , third , fourth and fifth spin. I am happy to say that it is growing on me slowly but surely. I really like "Get Ready" , "Show" and "Sofia" and LOVE "Wings". I start to lose interest when it gets to the second half so I am going to have to work on that. I still have to say that it is not what I expected and honestly, it is probably going to end up being my least favorite. sad.gif . That kinda sucks but maybe I'm wrong !

I waited...I always wait...I'm a man of tradition I guess

Love it...but it's too early to judge, for me anyways...

After 6 listens now, SFBM > BOP, and SFBM = V

I heard some of the songs live and after the strength of the songs when they play them in concert, I was dissapointed to hear how weak they sounded on the album.

IMO it is way overproduced and more of an Ed solo album than a group LIVE album.

I do like Sofia, Show & Wings.

I am LOVING IT on the real stereo, in all it's uncompressed glory at the proper volume. Wings is just what I need right now. All the fuckedupedness of the world has been wieghing on me of late. I do have wings. I should use them. We all need to right now.

It is so good to see some positive comments. I love the cd. Loved it the first time I played it. I see some good reviews around and about, but I see so many negative. People who want them to be what "they once were". Glad you liked it. I keep playing it over and over. Night of Nights is good, isn't it?

waited for the june 6 release date after i heard the leaked versions. With the early listens, I was not that impressed but SFBM is growing on me....more and more with every spin. BUT....will not listen to "get ready" blah....and so far, skip "the river" ..... and add in the duet of "mystery" with chris and I am going through the rest of the tracks with a huge beer drinking smile.gif

imho, SFBM is up beat, some might say "poppy". as a sweet friend says....sitting on the deck drinking a cold beer kind a cd....share with friends and even play when the minis are in the room and not have a coughing attack to cover the ever well placed "fuck" this and that...

rambling comes to an end....

Night of Nights is AWESOME...cannot hear it enough...play that and Love Shines over and over...and of course the rest of the album...

It's a good sign that I haven't even considered removing the CD from my stereo yet...if I haven't grabed TC, it's a pretty damn good disk

Safe to say it's their best work since TDTH for me (dare I say since SS? The jury's still out)
