Don't know. That's just the story I remember hearing about the album.

I think it was in a Chad Taylor blog post. It was something like the record company heard the demos and wanted those songs on an album ASAP.

Same, and its quite possibly true, although we still only got one side and we know Live are quite liberal with the truth/rewriting their history. So, wouldn't surprise me if it isn't quite the way CT made it out to be.

I remember there was a request to fans to send FMNBLE to radio stations, I think because the label wasn't supporting a single or something. I actually sent CDRs to radio stations where I lived at the time, with a printout of the email.

LOL!

Regardless, that wasn't the intent of the band. That was the decision made by their record company.

Yes, because the record company also thought it was good. V kicks so much ass!

Chad was very unhealthy trying to become thinner without proper nutrition.

QUOTE
The label finally decided by committee that “Simple Creed” would be the single and a video was ordered. I had lost 35 pounds working out everyday to “look great” in the new media model of tits and ass. Shirtless with only a vest on I took on my new role as an actor in someone’s bad play. This shit had nothing to do with the dream Chad, Patrick and I started in Gracey’s bedroom in York. It had nothing to do with Ed’s lyrics on “Lightning Crashes.” This was all about the looming downturn in corporate revenue MCA was facing. We were fucked and stuck in an unbreakable contract.

Oh, maybe he was healthy. Hopefully he had a sports dietitian helping him w the weight cut. Maybe Chad could use some of that record label pressure. Call the new album "new media model of tits and ass feat zoe labelle"

I assume he had some kind of help with the weight loss. A time lock on the fridge maybe.

Funny he was so angry about it. Best he had looked in 20 years but angry as hell. Most people would be thrilled with dropping 35 pounds. That is a good amount of weight. The benefits are numerous.

I think CT was more upset that V sucked.

Seriously though...if you are a MAJOR band, is it unreasonable for a record label to say "Hey...can you please not be obese?" to the lead guitarist?

Like it or not there IS an image factor to the music business. From what clothes you wear to what you look like physically, it all matters.

And you either play the game or you make shitty albums like SFBM and fade away.

You aren't wrong. Its not like when they tell a 115 pound woman to lose 15 pounds. He needed to lose that weight anyway.

Just go on social media and call him chunky or portly. We dont want him to stomp thru the stage floor or lose balance and fall off the stage
