Yeah, The Turn absolutely sounds like a Live album. I think for some it's genuinely just a case of the different voice being a deal breaker. For me, you stick classic Ed's voice on it and nobody questions that it's a top Live record. That's cos the music and the lyrics are so Live.

Exactly. You're 100% correct.

Everyone has their own opinion. I heard what I thought sounded like some classic Live in The Turn. Maybe in TWAIT and We Open the Door. I thought TGF has just as much of a Live sound to it as well. Live's catalog is so varied over the years, it's hard for me to pinpoint just what is a Live sound and what isn't. But if the 4 of them are playing together, then that is a Live sound to me.

Speaking of TGF (which I really enjoyed), wasn't Honest Man just a Live song re-written? Makes me wonder what else came from TGF and Live 2.0 that may was older material. Or even Ed's solo work for that matter.

Either way, I'm happy that they are friends again and working on new music together.

Honest Man and a Live song called "Believe" that was performed a couple of times in 2009 fits right into the legend and lore of what happened toward the end of Live 1.0 in 2009. As the story goes, CCP brought the music for a new song to Ed at a time when Ed was running the creative show. This was like a last ditch effort to have some input. Ed put God lyrics to the song and called it Believe. During the "hiatus" there was some criticism leveled about how Ed was too obsessed with overt God lyrics. I think that CCP may have even expressed some dissatisfaction with what Ed did with their rocking music. The lyrics were about believing in God. "It's time to believe again. I'm pointing to you my friend." It basically sounded like lyrics from Ed's solo career written over music from the Gracious Few. It obviously later became Honest Man. Honest Man became a song that paid homage to Chad Gracey's dad, a working man and salt of the earth. I for one totally prefer Honest Man, hands down. They performed Believe a few times in concert. Around this time, there was other evidence of an internal struggle for creative input. They performed an old blues song called God Don't Never Change by Blind Willie Johnson a few times in concert. Ed announced in concert that he was grateful to Chad Taylor for turning him on to some if this old cool blues music. They performed a rocking version of that a few times in concerts I attended.

In essence, these tails from the past are precise evidence of what has been argued on this board for a decade, and what has been debated about Live with Ed 2.0. Will it be SFBM? Will it be Believe? Or will it Turn the corner (no pun intended) and become post-TGF post-Shinn Live with Ed, using everything that has been learned from the past?

Here is a YouTube link to Believe.

How funny would it be if the first new song by the RESURRECTED band would be... Believe.

Do you know something most of us don't? Coz the way it's looking is that it has been removed from their history. Why would you remove it and then relist it 'at some point'? Doesn't make sense. Acknowledging it makes sense. Did Ed remove his music from sale?

It's common sense, really. It's easy for me to understand the removal of it from an emotional point of view and also the business point of view. Everyone whines about the fact of CCP asking Ed to come back as a business decision. Oh my, what sell outs. sarcasm.gif But come on, that's human nature. First and foremost it was emotional. The money part doesn't hurt.

Where I live, The Turn was never mentioned on rock radio, nonetheless a song ever played from it. I surmise unless you are east coast maybe, you never heard it on your station either. The average radio listener; the "I only know Throwing Copper" Live doesn't realize a thing. They would see The Turn and be mighty confused.

Let CCP enjoy their honeymoon with Ed. The Turn will get its due. One day it will be back and you will see that even Ed and Chris are friends. This very same situation has even appened with other bands too, folks. Stop overreacting.

Also around that time: Take me up to Zion (played at an acoustic Ed solo showas a new LIVE song), ended up as an Eddie K song known as 'Zion'

Funny thing is that outside this message board there aren't many people in the world who follow the band so closely for so long that they remember all of these details about the history. The casual fan doesn't know anything about the nuances and ups and downs and statements and positions and missteps. That's what keeps the opinions and arguments so alive on this message board. What was said and done between 2009 and 2016 is more alive for the people here than anywhere else. I remember almost all of it. Collectively we could write the book on Live. In fact, in a way we did. In between the fighting, the content on this message board is like Live's biography. Live probably appreciates it's really loyal fans, but I don't really think they are reuniting for the small tribe of a few dozen people who visit here. There are thousands or millions more they are trying to reach. The in-fighting and the reminders about the ugliness over the last 5 years going on here is probably just a nuisance to them.

The Turn didn't sound like a Live album at all outside of Siren's Call, where the riff was written in the 90s.

So SFBM should be obliterated then.

For sure. I know we seem more emotionally invested than what CCP and E are although Chris' posts on FB and Instagram and the reaction to that says otherwise. And CCP had to acknowledge that.

Truly great interview. Ed won me over with that interview. He was very humble. Displayed effusive gratitude toward the fans.

Wrong. Just like every interview, Ed claims that fans love his music and that there is a fresh approach to what is coming next. Same canned responses designed to make his music seem relevant and great no matter what.

Ed claims there are about 5 ideas for songs being worked on. He re-states the idea that there might be a few tracks or an EP released this year, and then new music in store for 2018. Ed also seems certain that he will be playing solo shows in the future.

What's he supposed to say - "my fans hate my music and i know i'm not relevant or fresh...oh and btw, i suck!". How dare he speak positively about his music! GTFOH!,
