eyebrow.gif Mr. Hynes has a habit of trashing not only band members but fans. He does not care who he trashes.

I've been a huge fan of this band for a long time. I've met them, drank with them, met some of their moms even. I've read all of CT's epic social media posts and blogs (they are always very emotional). I loved TGF and loved what they did with Shinn.

This whole business of not saying one word about Chris Shinn and removing The Turn from online outlets has really finally turned me off from following them closely. I will totally check out the music with Ed, and I'll buy the old albums on vinyl when I spot them (just got SS last week!), but it is more out of nostalgia at this point. And I'll probably see if TGF does anything else because that was an incredible time.

Even through the "Heaven" single, SFBM, the things said about Ed (true or not it was way too out in the open), I was never embarrassed to be a fan of Live. It's kind of amazing that this is finally happening now but here we are. This band meant a lot to me for a long time, including The Turn which had some amazing songs on it, and the authenticity of its members was a big part of my respect for them. Pretending this chapter didn't exist, as smart as it is as a marketing move, just doesn't line up with what I came to admire about this band.

I have made some cool friends through this community and had some amazing experiences. I'm sincerely grateful for the interactions I've had both with the band and the fans, especially getting to go the show at the Strand. I hope one day they acknowledge the time with Chris in a proper way and put the The Turn back out there.

Until then...

I agree, funky. It's very disheartening. They appear to have become major league assholes.

I’ll be brief.

I know some of you are enthusiastic, some are plain crazy, some love to droll on in arguments forever, others having change of hearts and minds. All fine, can’t change you and your behaviors

Too much dart throwing on what the Band should do for you, or how they handle things in your opinion, operation or should do this or that. Get over it, enjoy the band and take heart they decided to figure out their differences and come together and rekindle their friendship and musical minds. They won’t be around forever, so go see them if you can. The band kind of ended for a brief time without any real announcements, not everyone is expected to be told every iota on information.

The guys did come out and give Chris some nice words and thanks. Many expected it, some complained they didn’t see it..but..

Here is the proof in case this discussion keeps turning in the wind.

Try to all get along and stop attacking each other and the band.

Dunno know why, it still doesn't show. The last CT post that I can see is the Rock on the Range one.

Anyhoo, thanks for the proof, Chad! thumbsup.gif Please come to San Antonio-Aztec Theater.

Took their sweet jesus time about it and only after Chris was the gracious one and put an end to the speculation. The LIVE stuff has been all over the media - (even here on a certain radio station that plugs them...although they dropped LIVE and stuck with Ed during the break up period). I would have thought (and especially seeing as there doesn't seem to be any hard feelings between CCP and CS) that with the big reunion out of the blue, when previously Chris had still been frontman, that it would have been the right thing for LIVE to show Chris some respect in that regard. You're right, many expected it, but most of all, Chris Shinn deserved it.

They got their timing wrong - feels like they've only come out with it because Chris was the bigger man. It would have nipped all that innuendo in the bud from the start.

This is just another example of Live doing things ass backwards.

They could've squashed a lot of this by doing their big countdown announcement about Ed returning while also posting on social media or even this fan site about Chris' departure.

thumbsup.gif

Almost seemed like a game of chicken, to see who spoke first! I'm very disappointed in the guys, but glad that overall, there are no hard feelings. I never had the opportunity to meet Chris, and bummed at that (because he really seems like a nice guy), but if he's reading by chance, I wish you all the best! I have enjoyed you being a part of the band, as well as your earlier works.

Actually, I think I have to go back to looking more at the surface of Live and the guys, and not so much underneath the hood anymore. I've never/ever spent so much time on trying to understand things from ONE band. The more granular I've gotten with observing and trying to understand, the more I started to get bothered, frustrated and just rather tired. Sure, not everybody is the same or deals with situations the same, but ever since things started getting crazy for Live (prior to 2009), it effected the fans and caused a huge divide. Even more so, added to multiple opinions, confusion, and anger. We tried to really understand WHAT WAS GOING ON, and when we did, things just got worse.

I hoping that the guys (both Live and Chris Shinn) can provide some much needed healing, not only toward their respective ventures, but for their legions of fans that have once and/or continued to believe in them.

I saw some guy in a prior thread keep saying, "They owe the fans no explanation." He's right. So many whiners about everything they do (or don't do in this case) and about the Turn being erased.

It was a nice statement by Chris Shinn and I'm glad the guys responded. The album has probably been deleted or made scarce so that the market is not confused about who the singer is at this point - that was one of Ed's complaints 2 years ago or so. Regardless of what I think of The Turn (not bad), I'd imagine that is what happened. As a "business decision" I am sure Chris was made aware of that and possibly given some financial compensation as part of the Live V2 split. Just my opinion of course.

I don't really care how you go about doing things. As long as the music is good and the shows are good, I'll pay and attend.

Bill's bipolar douchebaggary is a separate issue, however.

Good point. It's like trying to look into someone else's family and then judging them for the decisions they are making that have nothing at all to do with you. You may be their friend, you might support their business, cheer on their kids in little league, you may go to church together, but what they do behind closed doors just doesn't involve you.
