Jerry Harrison's the secret weapon to me. Only one Live related album he didn't produce managed to be great, and not a single Live related album he produced wasn't good. And I don't think it's a coincidence every memorable song off The Turn has Jerry getting a lyric credit.

Meanwhile, Ed is always talking about how much he collaborates with Producers. I think BoP and SFBM were as much Jim Wirt's albums as they were Ed's. I think if they can pair Ed with Jerry, we'll get a lot more impressive material. At the very least, I don't think it'll be any weaker than what they managed to get out of Shinn.

There's obvious legal stuff that needs to be ironed out, that is a good point. The band probably can't profit off Shinn's likeness until all of that is ironed out.

Would also explain the lack of a formal announcement and lack of comments by Shinn.

That makes a lot more sense than the whole "erased from history" theory, which is Straight Outta Back to the Future.

This is why. And it's actually been explained this way twice in this thread like this by two different people.

So instead, they should basically bring back Ed but still continue to sell the album with the guy who replaced him? How's Ed supposed to feel about that. It'd be like you were dating a girl, you broke up, you dated another girl, you dump the second girl to get back with the first girl, but you leave up a picture of the second girl. Good luck explaining to the first girl that its just up because its "part of your history".

They're focusing on reconnecting with Ed, and I totally understand the move.

To equate not selling The Turn at this moment with "erasing it from their history", that's a bit dramatic.
