QUOTE(Merica @ Dec 15 2016, 4:41 pm) *

On Facebook The Thrill / Bill has said:
As has been explained by World Dreamer, there's a difference between no longer promoting the album and trying to remove it and Shinn from Live's history. What the actual fuck is going on here?

After all that's been said and done, to now be erasing the whole fucking thing? Fuck off if you don't think we're owed and entitled to some kind of explanation about this. Seriously fuck off. This is just ridiculous. And they want us to just fall in line and believe they'll be BETTER THAN EVER with OMG ACTUALLY TOTALLY INNOCENT JUST FORGET ABOUT IT Ed? This is massively, obscenely insulting to the fans who supported them with Chris and The Turn.

I know they want to move forward with Ed and be just about the future and spiritual loving and togetherness and forgiveness and all that wank; fine. But there is absolutely no need to erase The Turn. After all that was said and done, the road they took their loyal fans down. And now this.

Fuck off.

We can be happy for them being together again. Erase Shinn's contribution? No way! We really need Shinn's side of the story. Because we can't trust Live to get their side.

QUOTE(Hoodstock @ Dec 15 2016, 2:47 pm) *

Sorry, this made me laugh. You're better off not even knowing, you'll enjoy the board more.

Ha ha! Alright then.

QUOTE(La Mer @ Dec 15 2016, 3:11 pm) *

Instead of beeing happy they came together (That's what we all wanted, right?), we bullshiting eachother about staff that are in the past.

Oh now don't get me wrong, I'm really Ed's back. I hope they make better records than BOP and SFBM though but I agree that Live wasn't the same thing without Ed.

I'm just saying they shouldn't pretend like the last years didn't exist.

QUOTE(mfitz804 @ Dec 15 2016, 4:32 pm) *

So instead, they should basically bring back Ed but still continue to sell the album with the guy who replaced him? How's Ed supposed to feel about that. It'd be like you were dating a girl, you broke up, you dated another girl, you dump the second girl to get back with the first girl, but you leave up a picture of the second girl. Good luck explaining to the first girl that its just up because its "part of your history".

They're focusing on reconnecting with Ed, and I totally understand the move.

To equate not selling The Turn at this moment with "erasing it from their history", that's a bit dramatic.

Yes they should continue to sell the album they released with the guy who replaced him. Because it was released as a Live record. That makes it a Live record. How's Ed supposed to feel about that? Like an man who accepts that he left a band and that band decided to go one without him until he decided he wanted to come back. That's called being mature. People need to stop talking about Ed like he's a poor victim who got dumped by CCP and now needs closure. He left, they continued as Live with another singer, he came back, the end. Not he left... * void *..., he came back, the end.

If you understand the move, good for you. I don't think it's dramatic given they removed The Turn from their website, the video from their YouTube and all traces of everything that happened lately from their social media. That's called erasing from their history.

QUOTE(alexou @ Dec 15 2016, 4:42 pm) *

CT saw the karaoke guitarists with Ed playing the Lakini's Juice riff with a terrible tone. This goes on the 2 sides too.

Again, we don't want the Turn to be promoted, but denying is symptomatic of something. It doesn't feel right.

What are they "denying", exactly? They just aren't pushing it at the moment. Is there something else they did that I missed other than not trying to sell The Turn?

Nobody is saying it didn't happen, they just aren't harping on the fact that they did. They'd almost have to do that to move forward.

When it's taken off from Itunes and spotify. I think it's the moment right now in the last 22 years that l like this band the less. Disgusting move the remove The Turn. Hope Shinn agrees.

And to me, that is an incredibly dramatic interpretation. But you're probably one of those people who still thinks they should play songs off The Turn in concert with Ed singing.

I love how you think you can know how I am.

No I don't think they should play songs from The Turn. I'm just saying they shouldn't act like it didn't happen.

Casuals wondering who Jimmy is

He helped manage Live. Managed the backstage passes. Admin at Live's official message boards. Had some choice words about Ed, and heavily moderated fans.

Damn, I liked having easy access to The Turn on Spotify. Had a nice little playlist mixing TGF and The Turn. Jerry's producing was pretty similar on both albums.

Wow. I just checked and The Turn is off of iTunes. I really didn't think that would happen. Wow. I guess my copy fo the cd and T shirt are collectors items. Who's going to be the first one to wear a The Turn shirt to a Live concert in 2017?

Maybe there are legal reasons. I don't know what the legal arrangement was with Shinn, the publishing, the corporation that is Live or whatever. Maybe that is the reason? Maybe Shinn never had a stake and was a contract singer and now Ed has a stake and it doesn't make sense for Ed to make money on Shinn-Live sales? I don't know. I think it's fair to say most of us don't know enough to make a judgment. (Jees now I sound like Donald Trump). But if you take this on its face, without any mention of Shinn or any message to fans who have actually followed and supported Live for the last 4 years, this really does kinda throw everybody under the bus who followed CCP through hell and back again. I donated money for that album on PledgeMusic. I went to the March 2012 surprise show and several shows. I have a Turn T shirt and an AC/TC T shirt in my closet. I spent time talking to Chris Shinn on many occasions. Like many, I walked the walk with them for the last 4 years. And they erased that history with all of those so-called "freaks" for Live who walked that walk with them for the last 4 years without so much as even giving a statement.

It's like that beautiful Jesus story with an ugly twist.

Me: "Live, I walked with you through the hot, starving empty desert of nothingness for 7 long years. When you convinced us to support a new Live lead singer, I supported it with my time, my money and my heart. But when I look back now at that desert sand, there is only one set of footprints. Were you carrying me on your shoulders like Jesus Live?!?!"

Live: "No! We were there the whole time. But we just went back and erased all of our footprints from the sand. And now we deny that we were ever there. You should just bury your head in that sand like all of the other Live fans who didn't really even support us for the last 7 years and told us Live isn't Live without Ed, while we said that we were Live and you supported us and argued that argument for us. Those are our fans now. And now we are over here, out of that desert, swimmining in this amazing new pool of WATER. No, this isn't a mirage. And we swear, we'll never pretend this doesn't exist, trust us."

I can just imagine Ed at home browsing through the press release on his mac and checking that the coast is clear before he CTRL-ALT-DELETE'S the Turn and giggles to himself..."EDited"

I can't understand how somany fans are slobbering over Ed's return as though he hasn't failed to do anything good enough for Live in a long, long time. The evidence points to the next album failing to live up to The Turn from a lyrical standpoint. Like, it's not even close. The reunion of four friends is a nice story, and good for them I guess. But the music is the most important thing for me. And while I hope whatever comes next is good, the smart money says it will suffer for Ed's involvement.

I am terribly conflicted, as I have said many times before. I feel like a battered wife. Those first 4 albums really must have been pretty freaking awesome to have me hang in here all this time and still be excited for whatever they are going to do next, even after feeling as though I have been left behind, thrown under the bus and left in the dark. And I am just holding out hope that what Ed is doing in 2016 and 2017 with Live is close to what he did with Live from 1994 - 1999. And exactly what data or evidence do I have to hope for that? I don't know. But I am still interested and excited. Damn you Live for having this strange bewitching grip on me!

Imo, I think shinn is pissed and yep, some legal stuff must be going on. Also, again, imo, I don't think any of them felt good about how the turn came out but they wanted to give it a go. A lot enjoyed it and a lot didn't. While I wasn't a fan of it I really don't think it's cool that they removed it from everywhere. But as I said, I bet shinn made them take it all down. A couple of his fb posts have been wierd. I really hope they settle their shit otherwise it's the whole ed and lawsuit all over again. Only this time with shinn. Oh and hi Jayda, no nice to see you dear.
