Could you be more precise?

Constantly griping about something that doesn't go your way, or is out of your control is complaining. Even if you feel your complaint/gripe is justified, it is still complaining any way you look at it.

Going my way? All I'm saying that I think it's childish, that it makes Ed look bad and that I think they should just accept their history as it is and not pretend like nothing happened... tell me how that's complaining.

That's a rough blow for The Turn.

Maybe people will sleep better knowing this is still "Alive" and well.

How did it not work though? On either sides? Album sales? Did either Live or Ed have the level of success they had in the 90's?

We'll, it didn't work because the music sucked. If you like it then your ears definitely hear differently than mine.

The music on The Turn definitely didn't suck. If Ed had sung on it I've no doubt it would be regarded as a top album by the entire fanbase, that is to say, those who couldn't get on board because of Chris would no longer have any objections.

It didn't objectively suck. You don't like it, others do. Not liking the music doesn't mean it's a failure. It means YOU don't like it.

I don't like BOP, SFBM and Ed's two other solo records. That doesn't make them failures nor does it mean they objectively suck.

Art is subjective.

Right, thats because some people like Ed as a singer more than Chris. pretty simple

Some people seem to only care about Ed, and perceived his move from CCP to his rotating band of musicians as one with "no noticeable drop offs". So when they knock The Turn, it's not because it's not good music, or even that it's Chris, it's just because it's not Ed.

I've not explained this properly.

What I should have said is: if [i]classic[/] Ed had sung on The Turn it would be regarded as a top album by everybody.

But as it happened, Ed's fans who are only bothered about Ed don't like it just because he's not on it. They can't appreciate the fact that it's good music that evokes the spirit and essence of Live from the original good albums. It's Ed or nothing to them.

Ed's cds had a lot more success than the turn did. He sold out shows and did meet and greets and was loving what he was doing. To me,the turn was not good imo. Chris was never a part of live imo...he was merely a fill in so they could keep playing music. Nice guy, sung ok, not great. It's fine to like him and its fine to not like him....some of you need to accept that. Nick called this whole deal 2 years ago. He knew they were going to get back together and man oh man, I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Jimmy Lang gang when they found out. Haha. Not even they knew it was happening. Cause if they did, they would not have closed down their precious white discussion board. I would like to say thank you to Nick for sticking by his guns and having the faith. You rock nick. Noone wanted to believe you and you proved them wrong, I for one am glad I stuck with him and his opinions. I probably won't go to any shows as to I can't get out like I used to but am Def looking forward to a new cd that most likely will be awesome.

How about Lang closing the WD forum BECAUSE they got back together? That''s my take and it's fine by me.

We should get over the "Live with Shinn was not Live". Can't stand that line when the Turn was arguably the best musical record since TDTH, if not earlier.

To me The Turn was unlistenable. So arguably is correct.

Then why do you continue to preach to me your opinion that Ed's music didn't suck while questioning my opinion that it did? Thats being a hypocrite. Then on top of it you pull a Nick and start bringing up sales, blah, blah, blah.

I respect your opinion - you like it. Good for you I guess?

I wouldn't care if TFATM had gone triple platinum. My ears say Ed's solo music SUCKED! IMO so did Shinn (musically The Turn was alright). So did V and afterward if you want to know about all of it. TGF on the other hand, not to shabby.

As you said, art is subjective.
