CCP tried to make Live work without Ed and it didn't. Ed knows he is stronger with Live than he is solo. There is no argument that Live is ECCP. The Turn is a blip in nice terms, and a flop in real terms.

But then CCP would not have been on Summerland or been able to get festivals or Australia gigs.

Ed wouldn't have been able to tour his material on the SFBM tour, or the BOP tour without the Live brand or CCP following their dictated instructions. Live is a name, and a pretty generic one at that. Whatever we called them, it was just a name. Just a name.

Even if you didn't like Chris he will also always be part of Live. If he does a solo album he should tour with the "formerly of Live" moniker that Ed used (unless Ed was evil and trade marked it).

Chris was never awful.

Now when The Gracious Few covered Dolphin's Cry, that was awful. Anyone still got that video?

I haven't seen them do TDC...I saw them try do Lakini's Juice and that was awful. But I actually loved their version of Far Behind more than the Candlebox original. Not that i really like that song to begin with.

But that is something that makes me comfortable in what I like. I like KM, loved TGF, but him doing Lakini's was just awful. So I know I'm not thinking "anyone with CCP is better than Ed". It makes me realise how much I genuinely love Chris in that role because in an alternate universe with KM fronting Live rather than Chris and singing those old songs...just don't think I could see that work.

And as for Nick's comments above about it "not working" , he runs out of argument and he is back to discussing things financially. Live with Chris worked for me better than anything Live with Ed did for 15yrs and I'm not the only one. Chris Shinn is cool and good.

How did it not work though? On either sides? Album sales? Did either Live or Ed have the level of success they had in the 90's? No and they never will again. That's not a testament of their talent or quality of material but rather shows how the music industry has changed.

Constantly griping about something that doesn't go your way, or is out of your control is complaining. Even if you feel your complaint/gripe is justified, it is still complaining any way you look at it.
