Man, if you guys dated a girl for twenty years, had a falling out and banged another girl for a while, and then got back together with your original girl you all wouldn't be talking up that break up period like it was the best thing ever. You would appreciate it for what it was, keep your mouth shut about it, and move on with your life.

Thats The Turn. It was fun and hopefully they become a better band because of it.

It's not the same as TGF. They threw Live's name on that album. Obviously it got Ed's attention and they worked it out.

If people here aren't excited for new music from CCP because Ed is attached to it I'm sorry for you. They are still the same musicians who put out TGF and The Turn.

I don't really blame him, if he spoke out on anything he'd be heavily criticised and I never got the vibe from him he was that kind of guy.

In the same spirit as the "Ed follows CT on instagram!" stuff, its perhaps worth noting Chris is still friends on facebook with all of CCP's personal accounts as well as other close Live friends and family. I don't think the break was as brutally bitter as something people think it was but I'm sure still disappointing for Chris and for CCP too.

I hope in time that he'll be freely and publicly accepted as part of the band's history once the dust settles.

Of course they are. That's why at worst it'll still be better than SFBM and the Ed solo stuff. I'm not sure too many people really think that Ed coming back means that they're immediately going to make SFBM2. But to a lot of people Ed is just trash. So it might be the equivalent of having three artists paint a really nice picture and then a dude coming along and defecating on it.

Don't feel sorry for us. I feel more sorry for people who can listen to MJ, TC and SS and then listen to Ed in 2016 and be like "yep, just as good!"

I personally think that Shinn handled the whole Ed thing with open resentment when interviewed during his tenure. He never showed respect to Ed as the original lead singer, and I think it cost him fans.

We're kind of drifting away from the OP but I disagree with this. The other three yes but not Chris, from what I've seen anyway.

Either side are and were ridiculous. It's the music that counts in the end. Which is partly why I feel it's so sad they don't mention The Turn in their catalogue. It's a great Live record.

Agreed. I may have opinions about Ed (and the others, for that matter) but it never made me less of a fan when they parted ways. I am optimistic about new music and a tour even if I still have lingering questions or even some doubts.
