But I'm let down there's no established tour dates yet.

That is exciting. When they are feeling up to it they put on one hell of a show. I take for granted that growing up in Central PA I've gotten to see a lot of their shows.

It will really hit me when they announce a show at The Chameleon club and I won't even be tempted to go.

It's the end for some fans and a new beginning for others...

I'm also bummed there's no new music yet. I didn't expect a full album at all, but 2 or 3 new songs, hellz yea. They've had plenty of time for that. Not even Hold Me Up or Cheetah or anything?

Bummer. The air has been let out of my balloon.

I'm hoping they'll test out some new stuff during the upcoming shows. I want new music as well, but I still don't want them rushing anything.

The fact that I will get to see these guys live again has me really excited. I was hoping to see CCCP live, but then that got canned. I haven't seen ECCP play since 2007.

Here's what I would have done. I think this would have really made a difference and might have caught the attention of news sources in the music industry.

The countdown should have ended (when it was supposed to end) with a livestream performance from their studio in York. Chad, Chad and Pat appear on the video and play a music intro. Then Ed appears on camera and they rip into a live performance of Hold Me Up. At the end ofthe song, the camera shuts off and the website goes to a recorded video message. Friends, family and fans have been hurt by the things that transpired over the last number of years, but at the end of it all, their true friendship, the emphasis on the music and the spirit of LIve endures. And the amazing creative synergy that they have together has been realized again. Ed acknowledges that since around 2000, Ed wanted to go in other creative directions take more solo creative control. During the process of writing Birds of Pray and Songs From Black Mountain, this urge to express himself in a more solo format resulted in him taking over more of the process within Live. As a result, those albums lost some off the traditional LIve sound. In retrospect, he realizes that maybe those should have been solo albums instead of Live albums. For the last half dozen years, he's had the opportunity to work on solo projects and express his non-Live body of work. CCP also took the opportunity to do the same, with Kevin Martin and with Chris Shinn. Time, forgiveness and lifelong friendship eventually brought them back together and they all realize what they mean to each other, and just how very special the synergy and the creative process is that they have together. The inner spark is till there and they all want to get back to making music together, as a collaborative process, the way they did when they created Mental Jewelry, Throwing Copper and Secret Samadhi. That is when they have always been at their best. And when they perform together, they all feel something magical that can't be replicated. They've travelled the world together. They grew up together, on stage, supporting and complimenting each other. They've already begun practicing together and making new music and it sounds amazing. They can't wait to share it with their fans around the world.

The End.

I'm not bummed by the reveal at all. The biggest thing was confirming Ed is back and CCP is happy about it. While there was no mention of Shinn or The Turn, there was no mention of V, BOP, SFMB, or Ed pursuing a solo career either. It seems that the four are in agreement of when Live was at its best, and I think all the fans would agree as well. Remember, when Chris came in they only mentioned the first four albums and we could see how that got us the Turn. I'm hoping the same will come with Untitled 2017 Live Album.

While a song or specific dates would have been great, I really don't mind that they're being patient. Let's assume they've been together six months now. I'm happy they took the time to make sure they'd work well together again before bringing it to the fans' attention. Imagine if they posted pics of them in the studio only to reveal a month later that things weren't working out. I became a Live fan in 2008 and a super fan in 2009. I've waited very patiently for seven years for them to reunite. I can wait another few months.

I also don't think now is an appropriate time to mention Shinn. I think the number one priority is ECCP restoring what made Live their best. We can be as skeptical as we like about their chances of that, but at least they're saying the right things to lead us to presume they're trying to make the old Live work.

I do hope at some point we get an explanation of what happened with Shinn. I hope we get an explanation as to why Ed ended his solo career. I think the best way for both of those to happen would be through interviews or blog posts with the respective parties that were privy to it. I don't want to ever hear Ed talk about his solo career with CCP in the room. I don't want CCP to talk about Shinn with Ed in the room either. As it stands, Live's channels are now the room in which ECCP sit. Live divorced Shinn and got back with Ed. I want to know what happened, but I want to hear that from either Chad, Chad, Pat, or Chris on their own. Live's channels should really just exist to promote the band in current form, and mentioning Chris only stirs division.

Everyone here is acting like this is the last we'll hear from anyone. I don't get why anyone is mad about the Q&A. Of course it's all fluff. It's a press release. A boiler plate set of answers for publications to pull quotes from. Trust me, this is still Chad Taylor and Ed Kowalcyzk we're talking about. We will get the full story, real answers to real questions, and much more. But let's let them talk about it after their new honeymoon ends.

For those complaining about no Turn, Live's bio on the website stopped talking about albums after The Distance to Here. I was at first upset that they didn't list confirmed tour dates, but things are in motion and I think the first wave will be up in January.

If they are in fact co-headlining MMR Fest in NJ, that is huge. That is also something Ed solo, and Live with Shinn couldn't dream of doing. Being gone for 7 years, and slowly returning with huge shows before a new album drops is actually a good plan, and more than any of else could have hoped for a few months ago.

Rolling Stone has reported on this online. That is something else they get when it's the 4 of them together. They are more relevant together than apart.

I agree about not mentioning Chris Shinn or the Turn. It would make no sense to do that in what is essentially a press release about their reunion.

It's also really important that they said they don't want to rush an album and don't have the pressure from a label to put one out. One of the big riffs with Live came post-TDTH/pre-V. Ed was "on a roll writing new music" (I think those were CT's words) and didn't want to stop. CCP gave him the green light to do it, thinking that those songs would be a bonus free release for the fans. Instead, the label made them release it as a true album. CCP had little input and it didn't really have the classic Live sound. It then set the precedent for BOP and SFMB with Ed taking the reigns.

I think Ed and CCP work at very different paces, so to have no rush to complete really gives us the best chance at a collaboration between the four of them. That to be is the biggest win for the fans from the press release.

Agreed! I liked the Q&A's in that it focused on the four of them, why they are reconciling and each of their quotes/responses, etc.

I didn't expect them to just 'air' everything out all at once today either. I'm sure things will be discussed more in depth as time goes on, the tour stars, etc.

I like you Voodoo Lady have never seen them all together in concert so...I can't wait!!

That took Fish probably about 7 minutes to write. I'd fully accept and respect that. Why Live can't throw down a few paragraphs is beyond me.
